So I got this model on PoF to qualify to me. Then I responded to her qualification (which ended up being longer then I though. Do long messages come off as AFC?) with my usual mix of serious responses and fun banter, but mostly the latter. She had mentioned that she loves spending time with a 3 year old girl so I asked her if it was her niece and mentioned how much I enjoy mine. For a semi-long message I get the following back:

An example of odd comments I made in response to her saying she likes to travel:

Whenever I hear someone say "I like to travel" I think about
sitting on a plane for 15 hours. I just have a narrow definition
of travel I guess. I like to say that I hate travelling but love
experiencing new places. So where are we going to go? I say
we go to Australia as I've always wanted to visit there. I'll
get drunk on Foster's and start a fight with a kangaroo while you
try to scare it off with a boomerang. Did you know that most
people in Australia don't even know what Foster's is? That's
what I've heard anyways.

any feedback welcome but really looking for help on how to respond. I feel like I a short response at this point means I said something AFC or that wasn't attractive to her. I just don't know what it was. Even if she just didn't have time so she wrote me quickly I am still kind of stuck on where to take it.

The "Is this AFC?" mindset that so many noobs seem to have is garbage get rid of it. To be honest ANYTHING can be "AFC" or "PUA like" its all about the delivery!

In response to your question a short response can mean several things, some women are just as lame at conversation (face-to-face and/or internet) as some guys. Disregard short responses, pay attention to the content of any response not the length. Continue the conversation like you normally would, no need to worry about routines or lines.

All I see is, "Holy shit he's different from the millions of guys that im/email me , lets continue this... hmmm what to say... oh shit he has a faux hawk I'll ask em about that to keep the convo going, I wouldn't do this unless I was at least mildly interested right? Lets see how he responds to the light neg/question on the hair.

Depends what you say and how you say it. There has been times where I type a 2 or 3 paragraph reply back to a girl. But a lot of times I am either explaining something and/or telling a story about something.
Its quite possible that she doesn't know if you are dateable or not and is trying to figure that out. I think you have to ask yourself where do you want to take this? There can be many reasons for the short reply back.

That's a good point, thanks. I'll definitely work on changing my mindset as far as this goes.

For me AFC is really about treating the girl significantly different from anyone else. Also it's about sticking to doing things your way rather than bending over backwards to accommodate a girl.

I also accept that in the big scheme of things it is better to do a small AFC thing and 'win' overall than insist on being PUA and 'losing' the war

Well, I got another response, so I'm still hanging in there. I think I went a little to cocky so I was kind of asking for her response. Her answer does explain why she never types very much though....
