This girl who I was talking to and making out with remarked that I was very vain after I tried to be cocky and funny. Is this good or bad, and what should I do to adjust in response?

Your cocky funny was to harsh. follow with a compliment "but... it's not that bad... i have done worse ect"or change the subject. You can even be obvious and admit that you screwed up by pointing "hey look an elephant", and smile and give an opps face.

Did you pay attention to the way you delivered the material?

I've read Revelation and Mystery emphasized a LOT on proper delivery. It doesn't matter much what you say, but if you deliver things right, with proper shifting speech and emotion, you can get people's undevided attention and they'll play along without hesitation.

Usually when I'm cocky funny, I pretend I really mean it. I use gestures, shift my speech tone, speak with emotions and girls hook on it.

The first days I used cocky funny things I thought the joke itself would work and I was very uncongruent and I had shitty responses.

I'll even give you an example.

I was walking home from school with a girl from my class.

- "Bye Teo, I gotta be going. I got things to do"
-" Yeah right, you're just gonna watch pornos as soon as you get in your room"
* I said it like a suspicious father, or some sort...*

She laughed hard... Gave me a goodbye hug and I went on my way.

Of course it's good... Just have a few cocky funny jokes that are well polished. Don't go on a rampage and overdo it and don't be more arrogant than funny

What you said would still have worked if you use the right body language on convey that your joking. Girls take stuff personal sometimes.
