There's no specific way to ask a girl to become your girlfriend, that sort of thing is very specific to the people involved and you're relationship with the girl.

Also, do you have to make it 'official', or could it just happen naturally?

One piece of advice I would give is not to ask too early, focus on having fun until you know for definite she is ready for a relationship.
