So this is my first post but I really need help making a good description of my self. I am terrible at writing what I'm good at or who I am when it comes to these sites. If anyone could help me write up a really good description of myself or show me some good examples I would really appreciate it!

I'm not even sure where to start... I can't think of anything that I really do these days besides play music and online poker... so maybe its just because I'm a boring person or something...

anyways if anyone can just push me in the right direction post in the thread or link me to some other good threads.

Check out this profile on POF from PUA Cajun http://www.plentyoffish.com/member1326910.htm http://www.plentyoffish.com/member1326910.htm Lots of good things in it. Use it as an *example*

I used to have a link to Dave M's profile on Match but cannot seem to find it.
It has lot's of good stuff on it but quite a lot different from Cajun's.

Possibly the best advice on constructing/writing a profile is found in the Net2Bed product. The old Insider Internet Dating by Dave M has a lot of good stuff too. PM me if you want further info.

My advice is if you have trouble writing about yourself you need to look at lots of male profiles and 'lift' sections of text from those which apply to you. Once you've done that you need to re-phrase the text into words you would actually use.

For an experiment , and I was feeling very lazy at the time I just went to a personality site and lifted the text and used that. I think my profile on OkCupid *still* has that text!

Haha that Cajun profile is great, I remember seeing him on Keys to the V.I.P. and he's awesome.

I think one of the best things you can do with POF is change your "For" option from something obvious like dating, to something ambiguous like "Hang Out" or "Friends".

I disagree on changing the option to "Friends" as that's just asking to LJBF'd unless of course you just want to be friends! I don't think there's any need to be dishonest - just say what you want

Agree. A being upfront with your intentions is the best way to go.
