As much as we know.. the rating system is used by some people with a rather poor attitude. Often an unproductive one of sitting around and staring at women.

On the flip, quit your crying; it's largely an abstract conceptualisation of how attractive you find a girl and is in no way different to saying "Wow she's super hot"

Sly is right, the idea that hot women are bitchy is bullshit, in fact often the opposite is true.

However taking into account how attractive a person is, can be a fairly easy way to cold read someones posssible past (good looking people tend to have been well socialised and have preferential SPAM as a child) , or understanding how people tend to interact with them.

Guys. Of course looks matter to us. But only so far. Most girls are good looking enough to be considered sexual partners. Very few are beyond rescue. It is seriously much more important that you can stand her personality.

Good looking girls, many.
Bearable personalities, not that many.

So yes, I would still say that a girls looks are secondary to who she is. Even if there were no girls around. As long as she is not repulsive.

Looks are #1 priority. Everyone knows that. I feel sorry for fat ugly girls. I'd hate to be a girl where boys determine their value largely on their physical appearance. Lucky for us, girls are not the same in their judgement!

In addition, anyone who says that personality does not matter has not held a stable relationship for a long period of time. I dumped an ex of 2 years because one day i realised all she was was a pretty face and I couldn't stand her boring personality anymore.

I have found the more success I have with women, the more I begin to care about her personality.

For an ONS, fuck personality, physical appearance is paramount. For any long term thing, I love a playful, free personality and as PUAs you should define what personality you like as I have (I've kept it short for the moment) for many reasons, one of which is that you can use it to allow HBs to qualify these qualities to you in set, or else they don't meet your standards etc.

Some people have drifted from the original point of my thread. Im not saying that calling a girl a hot is a bad thing at all. If your talking about a new person perspective your wanting to see all girls you like as the same.

You say that the rating system puts girls on a pedestal etc. If this is the case, then you are clearly putting them even more on a pedestal by caring so much about a damn rating system about them. Do you think they give you so much attention?

There is nothing wrong with the 1-10 system. There is something wrong with how its used.

Find me a thread on the forum where a guy has a story of how he laid a 5 or even a 4. Are there even any? Now, either I believe that every single guy here has never got drunk off his ass and got with a 5 (remember, 5/10 is totally AVERAGE) or by some miracle every guy on the forum somehow only gets with the top 20-30% of the female population (assuming an even distribution of women across the 1-10 rating system - which ofc isn't true).

This isn't a problem with the HB rating system, its a problem with the people who use it.

The point is though, as kasabi said nearly all guys will only be interested in 1 thing - how a woman looks. Guy will always say "wow, she is hot" to their mate, will first judge a woman on how she looks in regard to if they are sexually attracted to them.

This doesn't mean men don't care about personality though, most men wouldn't put up with a shitty attitude even if they got as much sex as they wanted for very long.
