What's the general opinion on purchasing materials from people such as gambler (just use him as an example). I feel wary about this as the emails he and others send always seem slightly dishonest. For example, our product was so successful we had to stop selling it. Wow, what business school did you go to! I receive so many emails like this - only 200 left etc, and others where the minutes are counting down and you refresh the page and it starts back at the same starting point in the countdown. Suppose the point I am making is that if the emails are dishonest what are the products like?

I like David D. stuff. His stuff seems pretty solid. Some of it seems like common sense though and the more new stuff that he puts out seems to be material written somewhere before.

Read 'The Game' by Neil Strauss and Double your Dating by David D. Those are really the only books I would recommend.

There is also plenty of useful forums here that you can read...Plenty of good stuff.

Best,

Gambler's Stealth Attraction stuff was pretty damn good in my opinion.

All of the big time gurus do all those same marketing techniques. You get really sick of them after a while but they do indeed increase sales, so you can't blame em.

Just keep in mind that Gurus need money too. I'm sure that the advice they give is legitimate, but mostly unnecessary. There's a huge market for people who are willing to eat up absolutely anything they put out, but what matters more than the advice gurus give out is how a student interprets and puts the advice to use.

Just take those emails with a grain of salt and accept that it's likely you don't need their advice. Plus, you can always check out what they have to say before buying anything to make sure it appeals to your own personal style. Gambler's "stealth pickup" has logical theories, but honestly nothing I didn't already know from my marketing classes, strangely. Giving women two yes choices instead of a yes/no choice, for instance.

The Game is a great read, it's a good introduction to the pick up community, but it doesn't really offer much of the actual 'how-to'.

I haven't used much online resources for pick-up, however I have heard that David D's stuff is good. I strongly doubt all the well-known gurus will try to scam you.

If you're still wary about using online/email content, stick to books. There's loads to read on pick-up; Mystery Method, Gambler's Natural Seduction, Revelations, etc. And Neil Strauss is bringing out a new book Q1 this year, which I believe is more of a how-to than the Game.

They probably all read the same marketing manuals...

have you ever noticed that most sites that sell ebooks look pretty much the same? layout I mean... perhaps some words in red too...
