So a while ago I signed up for Plenty of Fish (dating site) and wrote a profile and took some really good pictures. I messaged dozens of girls on there striking up conversation almost always along the lines of:

"Hey, just landed on your page and noticed that you [interest], that's funny because just the other day I [similar-interest]. Anyone who really knows how to [hobby] seems ok in my book haha. Anyway, feel free to check out my page and get back to me!

Out of the DOZENS of messages I've sent, I've only gotten like maybe 4 or 5 responses that fizzle after 2 messages or so. How can I improve my messaging?

You said 4 to 5 replys, out of how many? Anywhere from 50%+ getting replys is very good, I've been on POF for awhile and been on several dates from it, However Its usually more work to get dates from online than in person, so I prefer face to face interaction, however its great for starting out and testing new material and how to interact with women.

Just keep trying out new material, be a little teasing and don't jump through their hoops. Much like text game, give value rather than ask for value, your first text isn't bad but does look alittle generic, try and make each text unique and you'll get a higher reply rate too.
