I'm trying online sarging without a pic on my profile.

And I'm very much aware of the importance of good photos while creating a online profile, but my problem is, I have some business interest I have to protect. so if someone put my online profile link in the business I'm involved at, it will ruin my bottom line.

So if there any way you guys could think of to make this happen without a photo. I could send them a pic if they respond to my mail though.

I could think of 2 strategies here,

1- Be frank and tell them the truth, that I cant put online photos because of my business reason.

2. Be funny about no picture online, say something like, you will be kidnapping me and tie me to your bed and things like that.

So what you guys think, which approach is better, or should I combine both?

perhaps you have your reasons for not have a pic up in your profiles. unless a site itself is really out there, i don't see how not having a pic up could be logically thought of as a business choice. it's just going to come across as if you aren't attractive and are scared to put up a pic. if a person was using something like adultfriendfinder or something like that, yes business is an excuse. but something like myspace or facebook, i don't see anyone really buying that.

Thank you for your input, I hear you. I think I omitted some information about where I'm posting my profile.
Its in OKCupid, match etc, not on a social networking website.

My business reason is, I have a book in Amazon and if someone paste my profile link there, its so hard to contact Amazon and remove that comment.

Note: I see that many people read this thread, but many of them reply. Come on guys, help out a guy in need, and bring in some ideas.

I can understand your hesitations for not wanting to put a pictures online. Remember that profiles are 10x more likely to get responses if there is a photo on it. You can try to explain that you'll send a picture via email for those that ask for it, or some other combination. The truth is you may not get to the point of them seeing your profile!

I use Match and OKCupid frequently. When looking at search results you see a username, photo, match %, and location type stuff. Without a photo most people skip over the profile or don't respond back without it, because they are thinking of the worst case scenario without a picture.

Its still possible to meet people online without photos but honestly its just going to be very difficult.

I say do the social networks, you can have a professional looking page, promote yourself that way, and just message females in private. I doubt anyone will hate if you have a professional looking social page like myspace.

Don't post a photo, don't even say the reason, however accept it *may* be harder to sarge online. I've sarged online almost exclusively without a profile pic. I typically will include a photo in any chase up mail so they do know what I look like. I'm not convinced that a photo is needed at the start. Funnily if you slightly neg a girl who hasn't displayed a profile pic too, it will usually get a response.

Appreciate your input and experience. May be I should mention my situation in a private mail and give them a link to my facebook or myspace, so they could see me and decide to reply or not.

Another person here suggests to promote a good networking page, I think I can combine these two and get some amazing results.

What online dating site are you using? On Plenty Of Fish, you can put up private photo's where only the people you message can see your pics.

In my opinion, if I get a wink or email from a girl with no photo, I'll dismiss it as most of the women online are below average in terms of looks, and there is plently of women to flirt with online.
Maybe women feel the same way about guys not putting a photo up, especially as they're the ones who get so many emails, they get lot's of choice.

I think the quick answer is that it depends. There are lots of other factors. I went into this in detail in another post on another thread. I've tried various test profiles - a sexually orientated one, bombed terribly - a minimalistic one with as little info as possible with no photo, no real interest - one with a pretty good detailled profile and description but no photo, fairly good response with a couple of unsolicited mails - and lastly a detailled profile with photo, fairly good response to mails, more proflie views and a few more unsolicited contacts.

So really the secret of running good online game relies on the holy trinity of a good fun email opener, richly detailled yet incomplete profile description and good quality profile/online photos. I believe the weighting or importance is in that order, say 50%, 30% then 20%. This kind of fits in with the usual 80/20 rule that girls base 80% of attraction/interest on the character or personality and 20% on looks. It's best to make sure that you're as best as can be in all 3 areas.

I have a feeling that when girls get overwhelmed with emails that they just bulk delete them or bulk ignore them regardless of checking them out. This is why I think it's important to have system where you chase up unresponded mails.

As for the overall quality of looks of girls/women online , I tend to agree that the quality is a bit lower than 'real life'. Positive points they should be more inclined to 'date' and you can find out a lot about some women just by their profiles.

I wouldn't dismiss girls who email without photos. I've had 3 'blind' dates and two I would rate as 9s and the other was an 8 but possibly the most dull girl I'd ever met.
