Long story short I met this fine ass girl at a couple parties we threw at my house. I never got a good chance to isolate or number close, but I could tell she was kinda into me.

But then a couple weeks ago I found her on Facebook through one of our mutual friends. I messaged her. She's definitely engaged in the conversation now (laughing at my jokes, asking me questions, qualifying herself), but the problem is she doesn't check her page very often. So over the past two weeks we've each sent each other five or six messages, and it took me longer than I anticipated to get to this point where I can number close.

Now normally this wouldn't be a problem, but winter break started this week for my college and almost everybody went home (including her). I won't be able to set up a date for at least 3 or 4 weeks. If I put off talking to her all break she might loose interest. But if I keep messaging her and texting her over break and I can't escalate I might get put in the friend zone. So what should I do?

You won't get put into the 'Friend Zone' if you just CASUALLY text via FB.

Just give it time, don't seem needy and look for new targets.

I'm sure both of you will cross paths after the holidays either at parties or whatever. If you keep contacting her, it will make you look needy and girls don't dig that.

When you do talk, don't reveal too much about yourself, make her laugh (which I think you are doing) and go from there.

If she is a HB9-10, you can be sure she is getting messages all the time from other guys on FB. Don't be one of those guys. If you have her phone number, then call her. Texting too much will make you seem shy and a girl likes for the guys to take the bulls by the horns so to speak.
