I don't know how many of you use magic i your game and how many of you are professional magicians

I am a magician for about 3 years, and a couple of days ago I did a lecture in a magic club about pick up and magic

here are a few mistakes and things about magic I think can help you

-first.. the biggest mistake is "TOO MUCH".. it becomes boring, I mean the tricks is nice and all, but you will notice that after a time the girls in the set will leave and only the guys will stay, it stopped being emotionally stimulating for them

another thing it creates this "dancing monkey" effect, you stop being the guy that does cool things to a guy that is there to entertain them (switch from being an ALPHA to a BETA)
If they say "Come on, show another one" after a moment of silence, its a good thing, the set enjoys youre presence, but the only thing they can ask to continue the conversation is your tricks. You must STOP and make them feel your magic has value ("buy me a drink first...", "first you show ME a trick.." etc)

-second mistake is the magician doesn't know the difference between "I'm a magician called David" to "Hi, I'm David and I can do amazing stuff", bring more of yourself into your magic routines (something which is VERY important to the performance, not only to pick up)

-third mistakes, something like the second one.. There is no switch from the magician to David, aka no comfort, there is nothing personal between you and the target, no connection, you forgot to talk about yourself and her.

-fourth, something that I also read in the Mistery Method, but experinced on myself. When you say your a magician its too far from her reality, tell her how you've became one, and build comfort

TOO much is def. correct. Less is more! 1 magic trick per set and even less if it provides for flash game.

I couldn't agree with you more David and it's good to see other like minds on here.

I've shared the same insights with my students as well. One of the biggest things that I tell guys is not to actually "open" with magic tricks...as tempting as it can become...because that sets the frame that you're a magician...not that you can also do magic.

Magic should be used a spice...it livens everything up...but magic alone doesn't get you the girl.

When I discovered how well my little hobby worked and how to avoid the dancing monkey mistakes a lot of guys made, it had a huge impact on my game (and this was years before I read about Mystery or Style using magic tricks.)

It sometimes gets a bad reputation in the PUA community because guys don't know what they're doing and when they flop they assume it doesn't work. That's ok, the more secrets the better.
