Tyler Durden in the game - was he actually a douchebag?

Or was that some arrangement himself and Style came to, in order to make a better story by having the dramatising effect of the villain (Tyler)?

In Blueprint, Tyler comes across as a very cool guy.

In the Game, he came across as a legitimately borderline sociopath and douchebag par excellence.

The game is a fictional book, no matter how much style puts "THIS IS TRUE" all over it

And no matter how much you say this, there is still a LOT of truth in the book. It's not completely fiction, it's based on fact. So this is a very fair question. Were the parts about tyler durden more fact or more fiction? seems fair to me.
