Day 2 of the Stylelife challenge, and today I was supposed to meet and make small talk with 5 complete strangers. I think I successfully did 2 or 3, and the other 2 were kinda iffy.

The problem was, the whole time I was walking around, I couldn't think of any openers to use to initiate a conversation. I would see someone I didn't know, and what would I say to them? Nice socks? Cool jeans? Nice weather?

It just wouldn't seem natural to say those things. I don't have a problem having a conversation with people I know and have things to talk about with, but with someone new its really hard.

Any suggestions?

know where your coming from, i get the same feeling sometimes. but there is a whole thread of openers, i think theres something like 26 pages worth. i went thru them all and got some good ideas. some of the posts are really helpful, here is the link

Ask for directions to the nearest coffee shop, clothing store, or something like that. Nobody could accuse you of being creepy for asking where to buy a pair of jeans, right?

Stop thinking, if you see a girl tell her the first thing that pops into your mind.
Wow you have nice shoes. bla bla. Don't expect anything in return and you'll get awesome results.

Haha, I just started too!

I'm on day 4 of the challenge.

I ask when the local game is playing (lakers basketball for me)

or comment on the weather.

The second one is kinda lame, but the first one worked pretty good for me.

I think I have a grasp on it now, or more of one anyway. I'll work on this, thanks for your tips they're helpful.
