| I'll keep this brief. Okay, so after a year or so of focusing on work and putting dating etc. aside, I decided to play my hand recently. A friend tried setting me up with this girl at this charity event, blah blah long story short (really chumpy responses/actions from me at this point - I'm retarded), did the facebook add, a day or so sent a message asking how the rest of her night was, and did she want to meet up sometime during the week (Chump move #1). Got a reply a couple of days later, basically along the lines of:
"Pretty busy the next few weeks (university prac placement), coffee sounds like fun. I would like to let you know I have a boyfriend, wouldn't stop us meeting as friends if I had time." (this is a very condensed version)
I responded with something like "Once you're done with prac, catching up would be nice; sorry about any mix-ups. (Chump move #2) Good luck with your prac, and hear from you later."
So, I know this is an old, old question, but what would have been the better way to respond to that? My friend told me that she was single last time he spoke to her, so it's obviously some kind of shit test/just isn't interested. How do I learn from this for the next one?
Cheers guys
EDIT: Pointed out further chumpyness
