Alright so earlier I was at the Y sitting around resting from working out and this rather hot girl walked past, and I smiled at her, and she smiled back but I noticed as she was walking away she kind of gave herself one of those "eek, wtf?" type smiles. If she wasn't interested then why the hell did she smile in the first place?

It's called being polite. If everyone were just completely honest then people would just be rude all the time with little regard for other people's feelings.

Yeah, this is true but there've been many more times than none that a girl won't even look in my direction.....I wish it would've been more like that.......or her smiling because she was actually remotely interested in me.

Smiling is a form of greeting, as Chief said, she was being polite. You need to understand that if a girl smiles at you it does not necessarily mean she likes you or is interested in you. However it was rude of her to smile at you then do the "eek wtf?" (as you say) smile afterwards, but that is not a reason for wanting girls to be honest. She hurt your ego, but she doesnt know who you are - so get over it.

This is true, and actually, I'm not stressin over it as I've only seen her maybe 3-4 times where I go. Just would've been nice had she not thrown that extra little smile to herself.

All the advice I can give you is 1. Don't give a shit, if she really did put an eww wtf smile face after you smiled at her, she probably has her own issues and isn't even worth the initial approach. And 2. You don't even know what the smile meant, don't assume anything. I've met girls who look like they are the most angriest/bitchiest people on the planet, then you talk to them and they actually turn out to be pretty sweet, then again I've met some girls who seem like sweet and kind people who wouldn't hurt a fly...and you talk to them and they are just ANNOYING and bitchy and you don't want to spend another second wasting your breathe talking to them...
