Ok so before I joined here I thought I would try something out to see how it went, for you guys to critique for me, hopefully to show me things I may not see.

I was speaking to a girl I met years ago, but don't see that often or speak to much. I last seen her about a week ago for the first time in years and she smiled and waved etc, so obviously we're familliar to that extent with one another.

Really I wanted to show some sign of interest to her in our conversation, out of curiousity when considering her reaction. So I did, any helpful comments would be cool. To keep you up to speed, we were discussing a picture on her display of her on a night out, she said the night was quite 'messy' i.e. she was quite drunk, I said she didnt look to be in the picture, when she claimed there were worse ones. I challenged her to show me in a playful way, she declined on the basis they were too bad, at which point I said she was just being shy. The rest is what followed:

S says:
*I wouldnt worry about the messy ones
*you're actually quite nice looking as it goes
J says:
*if ur on later ill subject u to the messyness.. have to head off now lol
S says:
*lol alright then

*brief moment of nothing in the conversation*

J says:
*chat to u later.. church is a callin apparently. lol
*mothers!!
*xx
S says:
*church? Enjoy :( lol
*x
J says:
*lol
*i'll try!!
*c ya later!
*xx

IMO it seemed she left due to feeling awkward after my compliment. But her insistance on saying bye twice and explaining herself is odd. Perhaps trying to avoid the awkward vibe I got anyway haha.

Thoughts?

Hey man, i pride myself on my knowledge of texting, IMing, et c.
and from my view, it was fine. at first she might have felt a bit awkward, and that might have even been her reason for saying she had to go, but it quickly turned around when u just said "alright then" like you dont need her, this is a good take away and made her OBVIOUSLY regret saying bye, seeing as she allowed there to be two more exchanges of dialouge, both of which involve her saying "xx"

dont worry bro, youre fine
Happy Gaming!

Thanks for the advice dude.

I think I should give an update on this situation.

From this conversation on anytime she was online she would then start conversation with me, good IOI. I moved on by saying I had to go and confidently suggested she give me her phone number, which she did.

I had her number for a week. We text a bit until a weekend came along where we found out we had both planned to go to the same bar, so we expected we'd bump into each other.

That night came, I saw her come in but didn't approach or get caught looking. I then recieve a text from her asking if i was moving to near the dancefloor (as people usually do in this place at a certain time). I replied a bit later telling her I was there, she asked where.

So I approached, I made conversation for about 3 minutes before saying I needed to go to the bar so I'd talk to her later (old pua tactic haha). It only took the length of time needed to get a drink at the bar and move 3 steps away from it before she followed me and went in for the liplock.

Success.
