Yes I am asking in general. And I guess I didn't explain my question well enough. When a girl breaks up with a guy only to be friends with him afterwards. I would think a lot of guys would think they may have another chance with her down the road. As she is still hanging around. So the door is still "open". As I doubt when you break up with someone all of your feelings for that person go away to the point that you can just be pure platonic friends. I am more talking about serious and/or long term relationships here.

It happens, especially when its the girl who broke up with the guy. But if you don't trust them not to get back together, you shouldn't be dating.
