Pre-Initiation:
A few months back, I was working night shift as a cashier at this restaurant. At around 12:00 am, Julian Foxx walks in. Nights were always slow , so he started chatting with me, my backup, and the chef. First impression: This guy is probably full of shit, but he made me think of this friend I had made in China back in 2007 (a jack-of-all-trades 20-something year old Chinese guy - handsome and charismatic) who claimed he could walk into a club and walk out with nearly any girl he wanted. I thought he was exaggerating a little, but was awed by the idea.

Initiation:
Isolated and romantically frustrated in Queens, I joined some dating websites. After a couple pointless dates and more pointless people, I Googled, "Picking up girls." Reviews on Amazon led me to "The Game" by Strauss. That was about a week ago.
Nearly finished with "The Mystery Method" and I've looked through a bunch of YouTube clips of Mystery and others.
---
Time in the Game:
I've been collecting routines from Style, Mystery, and other guys from YouTube. Soon, I'm going to start canning this stuff. When I move into Manhattan, I plan to sarge several nights per week. Anyone interested?
---
Preferred method:
I do not know what is out there in terms of methods and why each method is different. I will start with MM, then pick up some NLP (because it seems so subtle). I also like what I've seen of Juggler - seems like a very kind and relaxed guy.

I won't ask what you guys recommend - I'm sure FAQs abound with that sort of info, and it's mostly up to personal preference. I assume it'd be best to start with something tried and true, get out in the field, then come back and shop for methods when I have a better understanding the Game.

I also plan to do some intensive psych and behavioral studies like Strauss did before he threw himself into the Game.

Also, I'd like learn some cold reading, but I do not want to rely on it because it's not really appropriate outside of meeting cute girls.
---
Interests:
Why are you so nosy? I don't date nosy chicks.
---

Another thing:
I'm planning to go solo almost exclusively for a while. Does anyone have any LWS-specific advice?

You seem like a very interesting and intelligent guy who'd rack up success very quickly. I want to learn Capoeira and parkour myself!

I'm fairly fresh to the game too, but the one recommendation I have is not to get caught up in doing too much research without the practice. It's a trap, especially if you really enjoy the knowledge and philosophical aspects of what you're learning.

I say bust yourself up by doing a couple cold approaches, even by yourself. Then I recommend trying to network and approach through social circles. That's started to give me a bit of success.

Best of Luck!

Plus computer science is always a plus...

Not to the ladies as much, but it's impressive to me. :) hahaha.

What I've learned about talking to ladies is to make your job sound important. You're not a programmer, you work in "professional services" ect.

Welcome to the joint bro.

Thanks for the advice.

After reading your comment, I decided to go clubbing this Sunday or this coming work week. I have zero material, and plan on trying to create a few minutes of conversation ending with rejection - the "Crash Close" as I call it. Some martial artists practice getting hit so they are no longer afraid of the pain - the concept with the "Crash Close" is the same.

Unfortunately, I'm 21 and taking a year off from school, so not only do I not have a job, but I'm not exactly a student either. I'm not sure how to get over the "What do you do?" question, but when I get some material working, I'll definitely iron out this detail. For now, I'm an "ass model" or some other bullshit. ;-)

And again - if anyone has PUA buddies in NYC, send them my way. Even if I want to LW for now, it doesen't hurt either to collaborate and network!

yea i think there's definitely some method in what he's saying. the worst crash and burn i've had was on the santa monica bus. if you want to feel a truly terrible feeling try failing on a public bus. you will hear snickers abound from even the vagrants, and you will have nowhere to go until your destination.

that being said, i think crashing and burning builds up some fortitude but you don't want to punch yourself in the face for too long.

good luck man!
