Now maybe its time for me to join the discussian.
Did you guys really believe that me and Fin can be that lame? Didn’t you think at least for a sec that first Fin wouldn’t ask such a question, and 2nd - since when a girl that has at least a bit self respect would say that kinda stuff if not joking?
But the thing is that I am real disappointed by you, no one seemed to give one reasonable advice to the ‘poor guy’ and you all seem to still believe in the double standard thingy.

Jezebel, why did you give it away.
I have been pissing myself laughing at how blatantly obvious this thread was as a joke/experiment.
Did you guys really, really think one of the most experienced people on the forum would ask something like this?
What is even more funny:
Quote:
Fin says to Jezebel (private) (14:12:26):
why don't we submit this to the forum
I think the lesson to be learnt from this, is to actually read what people are writing and not assume anything.

I don't think its funny to mock the not as good people on the forum with "experiment" posts, just because you consider yourself better. And then laugh at all the people who weren't as privileged as yourself to be *in* on the joke.
Hobbit, I feel I didn't explain myself properly. I found this funny because of the way people reacted.
Firstly, I quoted the end of fins post for a reason, he said let's post it on the forum, this demonstrates the majority of people didn't actually read his post in detail.
Also, if you read the thread, how much actual helpful advice do you find within it? Personally, I find it staggering that the majority of the replies are in the form of insults or single sentance statements.
I am in no means mocking the people who wernt in on the joke, I for one wasn't actually aware of it (I worked it out myself). I do however hope that what fin has done has highlighted the unfortunate decrease in quality, informative and helpful replies to topics lately. An example of this is that you yourself, hobbit, choose only to highlight the negativity in my post (which was going off topic) and mentioned nothing previously to help the origional question. (please ignore that if u had not previously seen this topic).

Threads should not, in my opinion, be filled with replies that are *flames* at other users. I feel either a debate, informative or helpful reply should be the only type written, would you not agree?

I thought it was funny when you got all mad at him for calling her a slut. Hahahah that shit was funny as hell. I haven't laughed in like 6 hours until just now. This website has no humor in it.

I don't think it helps that the post was so long tbh I couldn't be assed to read it, he has his own company and has been here longer than me. If this was a serious thread my advice would probably be the same "figure it out for yourself". There is way too much magic pill style advise with strictly MM people it works fine but as peoples styles take on more and more different elements I think you come to a point when it is counter productive to ask for advice, just my 2 cents.

So yar you are a big boy work it out for yourself :)

I will happily send Fin my section of our ebook that will help him with his online game, but for now, that is top secret information

Jaybot, what I am about to say isn't directed at you, its just you were unfortunate enough to be the person to post it

THIS IS ONE OF THE MAIN PROBLEMS WITH THE FORUM AT THE MOMENT! If the post was so long and you couldn't be arsed to read it all (and actually make sure you understood what was being said), why would you reply when it is very likely that what you say may miss out key points in the original question? you shouldn't because it won't be constructive.

In the situation of such a long thread such as Fin's I normally wouldn't read it all (the only reason I did was because it was Fin and I was confused wtf he was on about). Instead, I would leave a reply saying that it would be a lot easier if the poster shortened what he was saying, summarised and generally made it easier to read.

If you have seen the "Ask Living Attractions" thread in the newbie section, you will find this in the very first post:
Quote:
There are however a few rules to make this run smooth:
1) Please set out your questions in an organised manner. That means use paragraphs and correct grammar.
2) Summarise your questions at the end of your post. This makes it a lot easier for us to work out exactly what you want to know!
3) Please try to keep posts short and to the point. Avoid copy and pasting a whole IM conversation etc. A short back story is fine as long as its critical to the question but please keep it to the point.
4) Read the thread before posting to check your question hasn’t already been answered.
When post's are written in this way, it makes them much more likely to be read and a lot more likely to get constructive answers.

In regard to replies, how many in this topic abide to the following forum rules?
Quote:
2. Be excellent to each other. Party on, dudes.
Give value and don't flame others. Flaming is what happens when you get all emotional and whiny after you read something that you disagree with. Calm down, tiger. Positivity is a lot more awesome than negativity. Trust me.
and to some respect:
Quote:
9. This is a forum, be open to constructive criticism.
This is a public forum and as such, when you post anything at all, be prepared to have other people with lesser and greater skill than you criticize and dissect it. Don't get offended or angry when this occurs, that is the entire point of posting here. Also, when you ask for help, be open to it and don't tell experienced and knowledgeable people that they don't know what they are talking about and being jerks; perhaps they misunderstood, so be diplomatic, or perhaps you just need to open yourself to constructive criticism.
Read up on the forum rules people, I know we can all be guilty of breaking them occasionally (I hold my hands up to doing so on a rare occasion) but they are there to make the PUAF the best it can be.
