I like it! It shows that your not going to take her crappy responses, it's basically you making her qualify herself to you. I've used it once or twice and the one girl started really talking, and another just kept at it. But it really gives you something to bust their balls over

Right after she said that she was busy I would've said something like "Can't multitask huh? That's ok, we'll work on that Have fun! I'm [going to a bar/for a run/meeting someone] Cheers!"
You bust her a bit and end the conversation because you're busy too. You gave her a few shots and she kept the lame responses, so you eject before it goes stale and because there's no point in putting in extra effort to keep it going if she's not investing at all.
Luckily yours worked out ok, but it was kinda stale again.
I prefer keeping text exchanges short - I'll maybe send 3-4 in a session.
