The point is to let her know that you don't care at all if she thinks you're hitting on her.

I admit it's one of my least favs though. At first I felt this kind of ST should be answered with a neg, something like 'what makes you so sure I'd want to?' but that just kind of escalates the confrontation and brings in too much negativity. You could also go with the push 'Your loss' then shrug your shoulders and face away, but again seems a little bit too negative for my taste. The cocky answer 'yeah right' from playfellow sounds pretty good, I might try that next time.
