That's actually good topic, and it rises one question I am having:

Sometimes in the bars or clubs, some taller or same-size as me guys tend to - while talking to a girl or doing whatever - stand just exactly in front of me, back to me, what automatically lowers my value and also - hiding me from the public. How do you solve it, without - let's say - breaking the glass on this moron's head? ;)

I think this is a really good topic, ive got my own question. im normalish guy round 6,3 with a fair bit of muscle. this always seems to attract the wrong sort of attention.

the problem im having while making and maitainig eye contact with females dosent phase me i love it :). but i cant stand when men are staring at me... what i mean is i end up walking up to them and for no reason getting aggresive and asking them what you lookin at or somin simmiliar a lot of the time. which has landed me in heaps of trouble ever since i been able to go out to clubs, bein barred from some. i always feel terrible the next day and want to apologise :( i hate this... i tried some anger management techniques and a bit of counselling to stop it but i found now that i simply avoid eye contact with guys all together since i dont want any trouble nowdays as my future career could be jepordised if i get more criminal record etc.... this has made me feel quite self concious and devalued has enyone ever had simmiliar problems ? or has some sort of advice..

Hey guys,

I figure there are two separate issues that are being raised here. First are the inner belief systems of how we see/feel about our height. Otherwords how we can improve any negative images we may have pickup over the years. (eg: "Domalo" I think your post relates to this category, I found a topic called "overcoming-height-related-issues" under the Inner Beliefs section which I think might be usefull)

second is how we deal with the current world, and how we deal with external influences (eg: I think "Rene"s post fits into this category)

Good point. I'm 5'5" and its easy for a tall guy to totally "amog" me with his body by just standing in front of me. Most people are wider and taller than me and I've seen this alot. Once they are in front of me, I can't see around or above them and I also become invisible to others. Never really thought about it til now...

It happened several times yesterday actually, although I am not big and muscular, I pushed the guy away (not to gently but not to aggresive), and when he turned to me I told him "don't touch me" or I showed him with my hands that he should not stay to close to me.

As long as you are not from Russia or any other east european contry, you can be quite sure that you won't cause any fight with that, no matter how fucked up and angry the guy's facial expression will be.

There is significant difference between, let's say, UK and east Europe. In UK, beer makes guys want to have fun most of the time, while in EE it makes guys want to show dominance and masculinity by causing fights. While in UK, accidental or not, eye contact with other guy will end up probably like that: "cheers mate! nice party, isn't it?", in EE big chances are for this scenario "what are you looking at dick? Do you have a problem?".

[quote="AussieMask"]Hey guys,

I'm about average height and while I have alot going for me, I have found that I feel a bit weaker when someone taller and bigger than me trys to intimidate me. Do other guys who are not tall and buff know what I'm talking about? if so how have you overcome it?

Hey em I'm kind of in the reverse situiation. I'm 6"3 ish and play rugby, so Ive a bit of muscle. Em, I actually get real akward when I'm around guys who ain't that tall. You could make it work to your advantage by treating the big guy like a donkey, you know, big dopey kind of stuff. It's happened to me before from guys half my height, so make them feel clumsy or look stupid. Sorry I know it's not a great reply, but I read your comment, and I'm the exact opposite to you :)

Ive read on here that all the short guys are short and small. Im a short guy but Im definately not small. Im 4'11 and Im a really big guy. In pictures and everything and even looking at me it looks like Im 6'2 or 6'3 or something cause Im so big. Im not fat in fact Im a built like a linebacker or kind of like a bodybuilder cause Im a powerlifter/ weightlifter.

now heres my question do people (including woman) take any importance in that? because I know people judge me alot because I get stared at by most people no matter where I go, Including some woman, are they checking me out or could they just be staring at me cause I look like a freakshow. :?

I have alot of confidence and I love the way I look, but lets face it most people probably precieve me as a freakshow.
