| I'm pretty new to the forums, been lurking for a few weeks, picking up tidbits here and there while I waited for Amazon to deliver my copy of The Game.
Last night I went out to downtown Pensacola with some three friends, two of whom were just going out to hang out. My wing, Joey, was ready to sarge with me. The first club we went to was pretty dead, as it was just 8:30. While my wing and the other two dudes just stood at the entrance uncomfortably trying to figure out what to do, I immediately went up to the girl (HB7) at the front of the club and started interacting with her:
ME: Pretty dead here, I can't believe that people say this is the best place to come to.
HB7: Yeah blah blah blah this place is dead until 11ish or so, but at that point they start charging a cover. You should just stay here until then.
ME: that's not going to happen. what's the best place to go to until this club picks up?
HB7: blah blah I can't believe I'm telling you to go somewhere else.... go out to the beach to the Bush Whacker Festival.
ME: Ok, and when we come back you're going to let us back in with no cover right?
HB7: Yeah here are some passes to get in, tell the bouncer you got them from NAME.
So off we go to the beach to the Bush Whacker Festival (A Bush Whacker is a local drink, sort of like a milkshake with rum). We park, and make our way to the venue. We enter, pay our $3 cover charge, and the four of us find ourselves just standing in the main area not knowing what to do.
Joey pointed out a two set that kept glancing at us. He started to game out an approach but instead, following the three second rule I just went over and opened them. One was a taller blond in a red shirt (HB6), the other was a shorter Indian looking girl (HB7).
ME: Excuse me, my friend and I just spent three dollars a piece to get in here and we need to know what's about to happen to make it worth our while.
HB6: Well, Molly Ringwald is about to play, blah blah blah they are a 80's cover band from England.
HB7: They're so good stick around and watch them play!
At this point we thanked them, disengaged, and went off. While we were just hanging around, having some drinks, I practiced some different openers on various sets. I used to have huge anxiety approach but over the past week of reading and practicing I've gotten over it.
My wing and I go to the top deck to see what's going on up there, and see the two set I had opened when we first got inside the venue. they looked at us, and smiled, so instead of going right over to them, we went and opened some HB9s for about 5 minutes. Then we went back to the first two set.
This is about where it starts getting complicated. I went for the short HB7, my wing for the blond HB6. Things are going good, but the HB7 is playing a bit coy. I offer to buy a round of drinks for everyone, tequila shots. HB7 giggles and whispers into HB6's ear. HB6 informs me that her companion is a lesbian who jsut moved to Alabama to get away from her ex in Charleston. I just moved to Florida last week from Charleston, so I start to DHV with stories about Charleston and start get my first IOI (She pulled me down to her to repeat one of the things I had said to her, but then held onto my arm for another few minutes).
So the "lesbian" HB7 doesn't want me to buy her a drink because she's "a lesbian and doesn't like boys", but I'm developing a good routine with her so I start to neg her to my wing with great success, and I get my second IOI when she started playfully slapping at me.
My wing and I semi isolate our targets, moving ourselves in between them and start to talk one on one instead of as a group. after a third IOI, I DHV a bit more and get the number close. I just handed her the phone and said "Put yourself in there, no faking." She did, then called her phone with mine and added my number to her phone.
We leave the festival and go back to the first club, which is now much more lively.
Within 3 minutes of entering, My wing and I Identified, approached, and opened a two set of HB7 and HB4.
ME (to the Hired Gun): two beers and two tequila shots
HB7: wow tequila straight up with no lime or salt?
ME: yeah you should try it sometime. That's the best way to do it.
WING (to the Hired Gun): make that 4 shots.
We buy the two set drinks and I intended to neg, DHV, then move on and come back later, sort of a rinse and repeat from the two set earlier, but these girls wouldn't let us go. I go through alternating negs and DHV and get some IOIs. I notice the Hired Gun has a tramp stamp of some Chinese characters. I immediately grab onto that and work it into a kino as we talk about tattoos. I get another IOI, then HB4's daughters (all HB1s and HB2s) show up at the club. I'm thinking WTF because HB4 and HB7 don't look old enough to have kids that are getting into 21 and up clubs.
The dynamic is changing, the daughters are not impressed that their mother and her friend are flirting with two guys the same age as their kids. I number close HB7 and when she starts telling me about her teenage son and daughter, we excuse ourselves and leave.
At this point, it's close to last call so we call it a night and head back to the house. I thought it was a good night, but it gets better.....
A big IOI (I think) the Lesbian HB7 called me at 3am. Too bad the ringer didn't wake me up or I might have been able to get her over for a full close.
Things I think I need to work on for the next time:
Escalating from the number close to the phase shift, instant date, and over coming obstacles to get the full close.
I sent "lesbian" HB7 a text back from the text game thread, have not got a response back yet. I think I need a phone opener to try and set up a day two.
Overall, how do you, the members of the community think I did? What did I do wrong, what could I do better?
