I work at a fireplace showroom which isn't the most interesting thing to tell a girl. Does anyone has a boring sounding job and if so what do you say when you get the question of what do you do/where do you work?

Her: What do you do for work?
You: I'm responsible for packing parachute packs. By the way, do you trust me? :D

Something like that. You can always choose an outrageous job profession with a serious face and then she'll wonder whether you are serious or not, keep her guessing.

Make something up jokingly...like your a stunt man and play along with it!! and come up with a little scenario??

Obvious link with fireplaces is santa

If she really wants to know then you can make it sound better just by speaking as if it is interesting...maybe tease her and say...if i tell you do how do i know your not going to stalk me?

Even if its not the most exciting job in the world you can make it sound more interesting by the tone of your voice. Desribe what you do instead of saying what you are (job title) as it invites more questions.

I generally try an avoid work questions the first time a meet someone, unless i was specifically networking for the purpose of work...if i have spent all day at work i dont necessarily want to talk about it...unless i have a funny story to tell or something really good happened to you etc

well you dont have to make anything up if you want you can just twist the words around to make it sound better since you are a "fireplace salesman" you can say your a "sales rep for interior designs" sounds much better and then you can elaberate on" yeah i work in a showroom that sell fireplaces and stuff like that to. Just twisting the word around alittle can help out alot.

Good responses these ones.
The thing to notice is that when a girl asks you what you do she isn't really that curious. In most cases it is a way for them to keep a conversation open and thus that is the thing to focus on.

You can either go direct and tell them what to do and head into a little story on something fun that happened there, or tell them your profession in a story. Either way you just have to keep a conversation open.

To give you an example of the above. If you ask a girl how her day went she will give you a story on a lot of things that happened on that day. Build your responses on a similar basis and you should be able to keep a conversation up.

Usually say

"Dolphin trainer"

"Hand Model for gloves"

"Disposible light repairman"

"Trainee Concorde Pilot" (obv they dont fly anymore) when they mension that...look worried haha

Better for over texts/online

"Full time mischief/trouble maker"

"i save Orphans, fight crime...just a general do gooder :) "

etc etc

But make sure when you actually tell them the truth to try and make it sound fun, dont try to say it in a negative way. Make it sound positive, tell them a funny story involving you serving a customer maybe there famous or something IDK use your imagination. Hope this helps.

EDIT: forgot my favourite 2.

"Nothing im retired, I invented the 'Dice' when I was younger"

"Nothing, im retired, my Grandfather invented the Monopoly game" haha

When you init ally talk to her, you shouldn't answer such direct questions because this gives her a chance to filter you out. Even if you sleep with 7 women it's best not to answer something like that until she had qualified herself to you first. Qualifying meaning that she has verbalized ( also done nonverbally ) her attraction towards you and mutual attraction is established.

This means that whatever you say after she has chased you and you have accepted her doesn't really matter. She will have to accept you as you are since you did the same for her. If she throws a fit...who cares....its a small bump in a long road and just because she doesn't like your line of work doesn't mean she isn't sexually attracted to you.

well, every reply was good so far .. but I have to say that it's only good if you are looking for short term relationships, how about if you actually want to get into a relationship / or if she wants ? Let's say you work at a mcdonalds or something like that ... how can you turn that to your advantage without lying ?

You could go with Juggler Method and relate your job to her experiences.

"When you were a kid, did you ever sit around the fire place and drink hot chocolate with your family?"

Her: "yeah"

You: "I make that possible"

I like the idea of relating your job to her experiences. Creating a positive mental image in association with you is always a good thing.

"Guess?" works well.

Keep giving her clues, she'll probably say something that you can use to spark more conversation too before you end up giving her the answer
