I am quite new to the community and was wondering what you think I should read to help me start in the game. Do you think it would be better for me to read Neil Strauss - The Game or Richard La Ruina - The Natural Art of Seduction. To help me start my game.

Thanks 8)

I would actually suggest reading something like Double your dating by David Deangelo for your first read. Or something more along the lines of direct or natural game, but that choice is really up to you.

I really wouldn't bother with "The Game". Everybody starts off with "The Game", but it's a narrative not an informational book (though it has a lot of info in it). The best part of "The Game" is that it gets you all pumped up to learn PUA, and gets you familiar with enough names and terms that you are not lost talking on the forums. Also since it's the story of someone succeeding in PU, it makes you believe the process is easy and quick, though Strauss leaves out all the work involved in the process. But for the most part it's just a stepping stone to bigger and better things.

I have not read any of La Ruina's material, so I can't really comment.

I haven't read The Natural Art Of Seduction just yet but I am 3/4 of the way through The Game. It's a story about the evolution of Style and the PU community, although it does introduce a few terms and some openers.

I agree that DeAngelo's stuff is a good place to start, although I started off with Paul Janka's Attraction Formula. Another good one is The Venusian Arts Handbook by Mystery.
