I have never been quick-witted, and for this reason I have always envied people who are. The ability to just think of something funny, interesting, and/or clever right on the spot is something that a lot of men want.

I'd really like to develop this valuable skill, and was wondering if there was anyone with tips on how to go about doing this. For the record, I've always been a pretty quiet guy but have been working on becoming more extroverted over the last few months. I do alright at conversing, but it's just thinking of something interesting to start a convo (or even just to get a quick passing laugh) that I need to work on. Like for example, at work there are a few good looking girls, and whenever I pass them all I can think of is work stuff, which is exactly what they are used to and expecting. But if I could just throw out something unexpected, they would remember that.

So, anyone have an idea? Thanks for your time!

this is an interesting topic. I feel that it is a little two sided between personal confidence and experience. First of all it doesn't really matter what you say if you believe it and deliver it with confidence and a smile, almost anything will work as an open. Second, I understand what you are saying about quick wit. Put yourself in the situations where this happens, I am sure you do this style of quick hits when your hanging out with the boys, apply the same characteristics just taylor them more towards the female gender.

check out some of the different routines and modify them to your taste, those can be helpful if you get really stuck. Practise being hyper-aware notice little nervous twitches, weird jewelery, facial expressions etc and then neg or (nonchalant) compiment (note when i give women compliments it's genuine, a side note in the convo and i really dont make it a big deal "oh cool shades... moving on blahblah"). today i was doing kino on a girl and noticed her hip bone was higher than i thought it would be- negged on it plus got kino response  I then dropped the subject completely. learn stupid jokes, trivial information (always use time constraint on crap jokes and trivia as it gets old quick).

heres the weirdest thing i'll suggest: you dont always have to be talking and chatting yada yada. I create awkward silences intentionally- she wants it to break it so she'll either say something, or you've had a chance to think and she'll be aching for the convo to start again.

Its easy all you need is crib sheets ... read through all the different routines, games, etc and write them on a crib sheet ... I used to have stuff wrote on my hand .. Mystery had them in his back pocket on paper and used to just go stop mid game look at it and then carry on. Another good one is have them on your mobile phone as its natural to check your messages.

The best way I found to remember this stuff is I spent 5 nights in a row listening to Audio, reading books like 'seduction Techniques' and here on the forum ... every night for 3-4 hours a night an it eventually brain washed me.

Another great watch if you can get a copy of the DVD is 'the Mystery Method' as you see him perform his routines and you see how he does it.

You could also wing with someone and watch and learn.

He's not asking for routines. He wants to be authentic, not some other MM clone spewing lines.

It's pretty simple coming up with stuff on the spot, I do it all the time.
The key is getting out of your head. Don't try going into your head and digging for stuff to say because it will not work(It's pretty zen like that, you can't force it). Rather get in state and forget about all your petty little problems (aslong you're alive you don't have a problem AT ALL) or shortcomings (all in your head bro). Talk about stuff you find interesting.

What I do to get in state is: Warm-up sets. Basically when you enter the venue start high-fiving people and have short conversations with them. This will allow you catch the so called "rythm" of being social.

Anything you do should be out of self-amusement not because some guy on the forum told you to.

Bottom line: Just have fun dude.

I read something that might help you on one of David D's newsletter. A guy was saying that he uses 'keywords' to drive the conversation. Say something, listen to her response and select a keyword in there and make up your next move based on the word you have selected. It's a great tip to get convo going and it apears to flow naturally.

Here is a convo I'm making on the spot:

PUA: Hey, I need your help. What salad dressing would you put in a tangerine and spinach salad?
HB: I don't know... how about sesame seed? (keyword: sesame)
PUA: That reminds me of Sesame Street. That show was wicked. I bet your favorite one was elmo.
HB: Is that the red one? (keyword: Red)
PUA: Red like ketchup. Don't tell me you don't know ketchup either!
HB: Hahaha yeah, I do. (keyword: I do)
PUA: I do! Wait a sec, I just met you and you are already at the vows. Slow down a bit! Are you always that forward with all the random guys you meet?

This is of course a terrible exemple, it's just to show you what to look for. This little trick can help you to keep the conversation going when you can't think of anything to talk.

Hope this helps.

First off, you need to stop caring about what people will think of you. An impulsive person deals with whatever he has to deal with. I say stuff all the time that sometimes doesnt even relate to anything in the conversation and explain how it is the most relevant thing ever. Or just make a joke out of nowhere and try to recover from that. This way you will learn what works and what not. And you will learn that it is not so important to say the right thing, it is more how you say it. Find where the limits are, find how far you can go, in reality you can go pretty far without them getting annoyed. Just try it and dont get insulted if you fail, its called learning.

Personally I am not so much a fan of the canned material. Its random, its rehearsed and most importantly its just NOT YOU. Lean on it to open if you have to, but try something new and listen to what she is saying. Women just want someone to be interested, she will be so blown away that your actually listening and not ignoring her and then asking her... "do you sing in the shower....?" or some other totally irrelevant topic. Listen and she will give you conversation points. But PAY ATTENTION get caught snoozing here and game over.
