I need a little help here. I work in a coffeeshop that is pretty busy. I see lots of HBs and flirt with them. Problem is, three minute exception. I NEVER have a chance to talk to women for three minutes. Also, the job requires me to do a lot of AFC things like smiling and saying "How's your day going?" "What are you out doing right now?" etc. Just lots of fluff AFC interview questions. I know guys that have met their gfs at work, so I know this is doable. How should I play this? Over the course of a week or two just flirting a little everytime they come in?

Well a lot of coffee drinkers are repeat customers. They find a coffee place they like and work it into their daily routine. Knowing this, you can effectively work on a girl over an extended period of time. You don't have to accomplish everything in the minute between taking her order and serving her her coffee. Strike up a lively conversation with her about something specific. When she returns the next time ask her about that topic you started on. It acts as a bridge from the first conversation to the present one. See if you can get her to remember your name (assuming you guys don't have name tags).

Excellent. I don't wear a nametag, and I do know her name (we have to write them on the cup) and her drink. thing is, I have only seen her twice so far. the second time, I played like I forgot her name and drink. Should I keep that up? But, I will take your advice on the bridging thing. Sounds fun.

Yeah that was a good move. It makes her seem inconsequential and forgettable. I'd say get her name (or drink) right the next time so she doesn't think you're incompetent at your job, but still be aloof with her. If she lives in the area eventually she'll come in again. It's just a matter of time.
