I had a couple hours before my class so I went to the mall. I was in the book store, and I saw this HB9 in the sci fi/fantasy section. I made my way over, and acted like I was looking at the books. then I opened with

"Don't you hate having to turn your head sideways?"

She agreed, then I asked if she was a sci fi and fantasy nerd. She laughed and said yes, and we talked for a brief moment. that's as far as it went. I just wanted to share this opener I came up with.

DUDE WHAT HAPPEN!
You opened she showed intrest you should have moved on further.

I know! I know! I eject WAY too soon. It's hard for me to think of something funny to say, or neg. I don't even really have a story. That whole approach was mostly another exercise at getting rid of AA.

You were doing great! If you open like this all the time and you eject way too often then you'll never get past this hump. Push through it. Tell her a story that's based on nothing. You could've told her that your friend is a Star Wars nut and for Halloween last year he went as Darth Vader but the helmet was too small so it got stuck on his head for 45 minutes afterwards. So when you were driving home all you and everybody could here was him breathing. Hahaha. That's a ridiculous story but I just made that up in 5 seconds. Than since she was into SciFi you could've most likely done the palm reading bit. Than ejected and asked if there was a way to continue the fun.

Such a perfect opportunity. However, I did learn from this.

I think I'm going to push the other extreme, and stay longer than I should, just to see how things play out. then after I get that under my belt, I can find the happy medium.
