Some people on another web site/forum say that pretty much all techniques and pua advice are a waste of time and that the only thing that matters is interacting and escalating with a lot of girls. But I get the impression that the people who say that are not very smart and dislike learning things in general. They seem to be the kind of people who in general like to skip a lot of steps and just try to get stuff done without spending time studying things or doing anything fancy. These guys seem to be rather limited in their abilities and results. Also, I read some guys talk about how they did a lot of sarging for months but got little or no results. These guys didn't sound very smart either. I get the impression that the really successful pua's tend to be pretty smart and knowledgeable as well as having done a lot of sarging.

I do admit that when you first start sarging, you are able to apply very little of what you learned from books, because you just can't apply all that knowledge right away. But I still don't think that means it's a waste of time, just because you can't use all the knowledge immediately.

I don't like the idea of going out in public and making a fool of myself and failing MORE than I have too. I want to learn as much as I can so I can maximize my chances of success and minimize the amount of failure and traumatic experiences I have. I feel like if I go out unprepared, then that's going to set me up for much more bad experiences and will be more painful and discouraging. If you are the kind of person who is very insensitive and things like that don't bother you, then that's great for you, but some people are more sensitive than others.

Plus I think I can save time by getting a really good understanding of PUA principles and techniques. Otherwise I'd go out into the field and make a lot of the same mistakes over and over. I know of people who have done that. I think that's a big waste of time.

I think there is *some* merit in this argument. An average AFC who simply approaches a lot of women is likely to do significantly better than a decent PUA who doesn't do enough sarging.

A lot of PUA theory almost certainly does work, but much of it is pretty obvious. I wasn't exactly shocked to learn that girls like you if you are surrounded by other girls and appear popular, for example.

That said, there are certain things which are not obvious, which seem to yield tangible results even when I have employed them in my clumsy, faltering initial attempts at sarging. Kino does seem to have a powerful effect on some women. Teasing/challenging also. Kicking Hollywood-style romantic stuff out of your game is enormously liberating.

It would be interesting to try a purely scientific test of PUA methods in some kind of controlled experiment, eg get an AFC and PUA to approach 100 different girls and see who gets most numbers. The PUA would probably win, but I'm not sure by how much.

personally, im more of a fan of natural game. i think canned routines and openers are played out. ive met plenty of guys who've been caught trying to pull that kinda stuff too. but everyone is entitled to their own opinions and you may as well do what works best for you.

To do well you need to learn the lessons behind canned material, its all very smoke and mirrors to begin with but stick with it till you naturally out grow it.

Also for people that skip steps fair play if you can get it to work and learn but I split interactions down and made sure I could do everything consistently before moving on. Probably a good idea
