Hope you like my alternate answer.. my answer suggests alittle more that there might be something wrong with her. Both lines are great for qualifyiers and are probably say are safe to use. I haven't field tested mine, not sure about Jay's.

(hint: Keep a serious face. A good way to do this is approach her from the side and look down at her phone as if you're genuinely concerned with what she's doing. In other words, you want her to make the inference that you're trying to be funny.)

The most important advice I could give you is that your response should not give her anything to push up against; in other words, don't show her that it bothers you. Your response ultimately depends on whether she is being playful or if she is being serious. If it is the former, then brush off her comment and try to regain control of the set by using one of the other routines I've already posted. For example, you could respond: "Why are you so serious all the time? Jeez, when you paid me to hang out with you, I didn't think you were going to be that high maintenance!"

If it is the latter (i.e. she really does believe you act like a child and she's not just giving you a shit test), then you should turn the conversation into something more serious. For example, you could say, "You know, that's very true, and you're not the first person who's told me that. But I honestly do believe that the best way to stay happy is by keeping a genuine heart and being true to your character. Don't you ever feel like being yourself without the fear of judgment from others?"
