I'm in a metro area of NC. I'm a smoker. I see quite a few women who smoke out in the bars, then I'd have to say it's a fairly small percentage (maybe 20% or so?) How unattractive do you think smoking is to women who don't smoke? I'd imagine it may actually be a deal-breaker.

This would be reason number 453 to quit. I gotta get that accomplished for quite a few reasons.

Cheers,
Gruuve

If you want to quit get hypnotherapy my mum did it and literally gave up that day. Other than that I find the most interesting women usually smoke but as a habit I hate it, so erm there's a reason lol

453- Jaybot wouldn't nail me ...... unless I am hot then eh would consider it

It really is up to you what you want in a girl.

A girl who smokes won't mind at all, and a girl who doesn't probably will.

Just don't expect to consistently pick up girls who are non-smokers when your steadily puffing them down and smell like an ashtray. This may work in the bar on the initial meet but after that is usually found as pretty unattractive.

As a general rule smokers should stay with smokers, and vice versa.

From my perspective, it is a deal breaker for me if a HB smokes so I would assume the opposite could be true as well, but obviously not as a general rule.

I know what you mean about being a deal breaker. I find for some reason girls who try weed extremely attractive as long as their not huge pot heads. When a girl smokes just to smoke because it's a habit, I find it quite unattractive and if their not worth keeping Ill probably drop them.

It's one of my pet peeves. I met this girl that I really liked and we were at a cafe talking. She put her bag on the table and I saw the pack of marbolo in her bag. I've never seen her physically smoke in front of me though but when I saw the pack my eyes kept wandering over to it.

I would have NEVER though that this girl smokes. Instantly just seeing the pack of smokes I could feel that the attraction I had for her kinda drop a bit.

Not sure what I would do if she lit one in front of me. I could never understand why anyone would want to smoke though. It's such a disgusting habit and it's not like your doing it for fun.

I guess I can't really complain about it though. I talked to her as soon as I saw it and she though I was talking about weed. (Which she quit. Pity :'( )

I'd be a hypocrite if I said smoking is disgusting. I technically smoke but for completely different reasons. I will not tolerate someone lighting one in front of me though. Especially a girl.

I'm going to play devil's advocate, here, as a fellow smoker. For some girls, this is an absolute deal-breaker. But if that is not a firmly held conviction than you smoking is little more than a shit test. You have to be conscious of the girl's senses and attempt to not smell like a chimney, but that's not hard.

Bring gum, face down wind when you smoke (I know this seems silly, but it will seriously keep your clothes from smelling overpoweringly of cigarettes), when you get to her house/your house/ or think you're going to get intimate, excuse yourself to the bathroom and wash your hands and face. Your fingers will smell of smoke and it is understandable that she won't want them running along her face and overloading her nostrils.

I think that you'll find as long as you are considerate of the girl's needs you can reach a happy medium and your smoking will become a non-issue (though if it turns into an LTR you're going to get nagged to quit). We all have bad habits, and I'm sure that you will find yourself overlooking some of hers. It's all a trade-off...

I always thought, smoking makes a male less attractive because his hair, clothes stink with cigarettes, but recently I've heard a very strange opinionn from my female girlfriend.

She said smokers are attractive, because smoking means freedom and is just sexy. Smoking male is according to her a kind of alpha male, who has masculin habits and addictions. Well, I still don't understand that, but I got know such women exist too.

Smoking is disgusting, makes you smell bad, kills you, forces you to regularly excuse yourself from indoor social situations, makes you a slave to an addiction and (for US citizens) recently became about 300% more expensive. Who cares what women think? Quit for yourself.

Your boy,

I just smoke casually with friends...if she smokes i'll have one with her, but I'm not a smoker, so I don't smell bad and I don't usually carry cigs with me. If you can have the self control to not become a smoker I think it works pretty well.

I dont smoke (tobacco) but the short and right answer to your question would be that most girls do not find smoking unnattractive as long as you keep gum on you. My friends that smoke often open girls just by asking for a lighter. It wont hurt your chances much, unless the girl is a dedicated anti-smoker, not many.

I would have to agree that for some girls it could be a deal breaker, but at the same time you can easily turn it to your advantage. As Cockroach said, some girls find it attractive and it can be a great opener to girls that do smoke.
look at the way brad pitt smokes in fight club, especially the way he flicks his cigarettes. Great way to exert some good body language as well as not looking idle if you've got no one to talk to.

Ah yes, Spec, the way you light up a cigarette and smoke can express how self-confident you are. The same relates to the way how Clint Eastwood smokes.
