I'm 17 and my height has been bothering me for around a year. I keep hearing that girls only like tall guys, so what chance do I have? How are all these PUA techniques going to help me if my genes are holding me back? I wish height could be modified and worked on like weight, but it's a total game of chance where the losers get screwed.

Am I being overly pessimistic? Is there anything I can do to get myself out of that negative headspace? I really want to start improving myself but I feel it'll all just be futile if height is the be-all and end-all of attraction.

Your belief that only tall guys can get hot girls is a SELF LIMITING BELIEF.

I can't mention any names here, but I worked with a 5'6" MPUA who was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. He could open sets of 9's and 10's and make out with them outside of the club, I shit you not.

While being tall will help you with what I call Pre-HV (I've never heard this term before but I made it up and I like it!), HV you convey without even interacting with a girl, it's not everything. 90% of the game is simply how you interact with the girl in a positive way and how well you seduce her.

There are also some positive qualities to being short. For instance, when you are shorter your muscles look way bigger way faster when you are working out. Think about it, two guys that can bench 185, one is 5'6 and one is 6'2". You're muscles at 5'9" will look smaller than the short guy's and bigger than the tall guy's.

All in all, your height is not what is stopping you, it's fear. Break through it man!

yeah cheer up bro I am 5'9" it hasn't held me back. Neil Strauss is shorter than both of us and it never held him back either. If you let your height get you down (excuse the pin lol) then you are gonna lose the thing that 90% of women like even more and that is confidence. Sure there are gonna be some girls out there that will not acknowledge you because of your height but the same goes for tall guys I have met girls who will not go with tall guys because they are short and do not likw their partner having to bend down to kiss them.
I personally think that girls attraction to height is a subconscious belief that tall means strong or powerful which is not the case most tall guys I know are skinny as a rake but over 6". I am not saying all guys are like that it's just a reference for you to consider and remember short guys are usually faster, more coordinated and when we fall we don't have as far to go as a tall guy lol.
Don't let this bring you down man. I just suggest you try hitting on short chicks no 6 footers bro lol.

Thanks everyone for the replies. I get the impression that the people on this forum are actually trying to help (I've been to other...less encouraging...forums).

As for targeting taller girls...I generally prefer girls around 5'2 - 5'6. 5'8 is the absolute maximum I would go for if I was wearing modest lifts (in the +1 or +2 inch neighborhood). Hopefully these ranges are realistic? In any case, I'm glad these "limits" I've placed are out of my own preference and not forced upon me. I can't imagine what It'd be like to be a shorter guy that tends to prefer taller girls.

Ideally I'd like to reach 5'10 as my final height. My dad is about that height but my mom is like 5'1. I know guys who are 6ft and have parents even a little smaller than mine. Admittedly this pisses me off but hey, that's the way it goes. Besides, it's not like 6ft is looking at a mountain top for me.

peripherique - Some facts of interest for ya. 5'9" is roughly the average height of males in the US. Also males tend to stop growing around age 20 or so I believe. So there is a chance you will grow another inch. As far as your height and girls goes don't worry about it. When girls say that they want a tall guy they are generally want a guy between 5'10 to 6'3". But the reality of it is that it really don't carry that much weight. Because as long as you are taller than them and are secure in your height your good.

According to recent studies, the average white American male is 5'10.4". The average black American male is 5'10.1" and the average Mexican/American male is 5'7.2". I can provide you the links if you want.

The tallest places I have been to are Lithuania, Serbia, Latvia, and Estonia. Hence, the disproportional number of NBA players from a tiny country like Lithuania.

Dude girls saying they only like tall guys is a load of shit that I've heard a load of times too. The reality is that girls have no fucking idea what they want. Its true that taller guys tend to be more dominant, but at 5'9'' and with solid game you should have no problems whatsoever.

A buddy of mine who has fucked over 50 chicks is 5'8''. Neil Strauss was 5'6''. End of story.
