cool down guys 8)

During lunch today i saw a girl/woman who was dressed in dark clothes somewhat gothic style. Only a third of her body made me zoom on her like a child to sweet candy. For me it doesnt matter if she's only a 6 or 5, just the clothing style is enough to grow my interest in her.

It reminded me of a feast of the middle ages with ritterspiele some years ago somewhere in the south of germany. There were a lot of girls dressed in clothes of centuries ago and I found them very sexy. I think if they had normal clothes on, they would be average.

My clothes may look average nowadays (not referring to any sub-culture), but underneath im still the viking i used to be.

OK, i still peacock ex. with a celtic cross around my neck.

Haha, well we do agree on that, I think you and this thread has much more to offer than to the thick heads of people such as me. Hence the reason I've been trying to end this fruitless conversation since it started, but perhaps my voluptuous charm is too alluring for you to resist :D

Isn't it better that the person dresses "like a weirdo" all the time than being "some faker" who just puts on a mask in an attempt to attract people he would not usually do, or at a higher level than he would usually do ? (just one of these bothersome questions)

Btw. Mystery has a look which borders to goth/metal sometimes.
(which most Tool-fans usually do, myself included, though not that outrageously.)

'nough bout that.

I love little goth and metal chicks, but I don't bother with uniform of any kind.

I also agree that metalheads and goths are often more wary of seemingly "normal", conformist people.

Fin,

You are taking your own thread off topic trying to debate a guy who doesn't care. This is what is known as reactionary behavior.

If you read this thread over, he's been trying drop the issue but you won't let it die.

I know why you're pissed, you spent a lot of time writing that post. But you took your thread off topic. Not him. And had this conversation occured in a bar, over a girl instead of a post, you would have lost due to your insecurities and reactionary behavior.

Hope that helps shed a little light on your behavior in future social interactions. Hopefully, we can now get this thread back on topic.

I was always too damn good looking to ever need something like the Goths. The closest I ever got to that crap was when I once heard a Cure song in a taxi.

Emo my ass! So indifferent to life. That is until I walk across a group of Emo girls in the park. Seems Emos can now be found even in some Eastern European cities. You can find them sitting on park benches. They always have one Emo in a tree as a Skinhead spotter. Skinheads roam the same parks and eat their little Emo behinds for a snack.

Punks? Well, punks in America can be defined by Green Day. F-A-K-E.

You forgot other groups....
Anarchists. Were big in America back when I was in high school. Annoying fucks who didn't know what the hell they were supposed to do other than write that annoying symbol on their backpacks.

Skinheads. Big in Eastern Europe. They walk in packs in many shitty East European suburbs and parks. Certain soccer clubs attract tons of them. Never saw one in person in America. I guess they were too busy doing Geraldo and Oprah.

Satanic Cults. This was HUGE in 1980's America. Every American suburban dweeb made sure his cat was inside on Halloween. They were going to take over the American suburbs. Youtube has tons of old 1980's new's footage about them.

D&D Kids. Now this is old school. Dungeon & Dragons. Not really Satanic, but close.

Heavy Metal Kids. Thought to be the final step before your kid became Satanic. Seriously.

Valley Girls. More my speed. Stupid, dumb, cheap makeup, curled hair, and FUN. Fun if you were as good looking as me. They are no longer in America. You can find the SAME exact girls in the same East European suburbs where the above mentioned Skinheads roam. They spend all their money on tacky imitation designer skirts and boots. They then get dolled up and head to the center of town hoping that some guy like me will have mercy on them and take them to a club or for tea/coffee.

Here is video of the only American subculture that was ever worth a shit. Found throughout American suburbs in the mid 80's. Visit any country that has a border with Belarus and it is 1983 all over again!

Sinn, drop it with the pseudo-analyism*, I do have to respect your ability but you need to get your head back in reality man. Having a grasp of PU does not equate being able to read human behaviours via text of all mediums. I appreciate the advice, but what you'll find is that philosiphy, martial arts, PU and culture are topics that I am very passionate about, I become very blunt and "hard hitting" and it often comes across as malevolant aggression, when truly I'm a lovely person. :)

I was trying to tease some anwers from him, it was very much on topic seeing as misconcpetions are huge part of what I'm talking about. I side-tracked into a sub-section not off-topic.

And please try to stop dragging stuff out of context and pushing it into PU, it's annoying habit of those to submerged in the community to take things out of context, now I'm not accusing you of such things, but that particular behaviour just says something. I'm debating to prove a point not particularly to my opponent but to demonstrate, such a behaviour set is completely irregular. Go to a debating society you'll see what I mean.

And if we are to immerse ourselves, I just validated myself :P

Annnyywayyy before we truly derail!.... ...Some new additions.

Bigbadwolf.
The poseur/fake thing, is something I've mulled around, and everyones definition seems to be different, an for a good while I thought the whole Fake/Real paradigm was just unbelievably fucking ridiculous how serious everyone took it. My personnal view on it is that the fakers tend to the opposite you say and wear the clothing ALL THE TIME becuase of an obsession with it, it becomes a central peice.

Take me for an example, my band would refer to me as a goth but I don't wear black or anything that gothic on a regular basis, I have a gothic streak it's always their in one way or another yet it only comes to the surface at certain times. I think it's more to do with someone's coherentness as a person, rather than "how much of teh gothic are uuuusseee!"

Your bang on about the whole wariness, way I see it comfort is EVEN more important, more importantly the PUA needs to have comfort, he needs to be cool with her and be tottally ok with all the tabboo's etc that come with hanging out with that girl etc

If your uncomfortable with her then it shows, and she'll mirror your state.

BTW ever listened to puscifer?

Expat.

I didn't realise their was a maximum looks restriction :O I'm in trouble! :P./ What the hell are you talking about... Need? WHA!!!!?!?!?!

Emo's again I'm trying to figure out whats the difference between them and scene all I can get is, emo hair + brigher clothes, tbh that's sounds like a fashion trend rather than a sub-culture :/

The UK has some "real" punks, american high-schools are appranetly filled with green day pop punks. Have you encountered any real punks in america? Are their any?

Anarchists- That's a political group :P but that ussually falls under anarcho-punks, essentially punks with a dedication to DIY records and clothing, often their squatting. I find that life-style a bit... extremist for my tastes. Expat would you be free to talk on some of the experiences you've had with anarchists, may open some doors?

Skinheads are a sub-culture, I thhhinnkkk their post punk possibly a product of the ska scene? They were fun people apparently until a more right wing nationalist thing kicked in and that started all the racism and football hooliganism. IMO not a good crowd to be involved in though.

Satanic cults- Met some luciferians in my time, thier not that bad a bunch, however cults and reverse christians, NO NO NO RUUNNN!!! Again that's more of a religious thing.

D&D kids... nerds :P I was one, basically when your 15 your acne gets to a point where you just have to become a nerd, thiers no other way :D Although I ended up converting to more of a jock/goth (should point out my HS wasn't half as segregated as most others when it comes to social groups) Are their any attractive women who are nerds? Thier was a fasion thing a while ago again, the whole "geek chic" deal. Didn't really think it was reality based.

Valley girls.. you mean like girls from the planet janet, plastics?

Fake tan, HUGE belts that sorta thing?

I quite like those girls but they tend to lack any depth :(

Lack of evidence and versatility of what each person can be totally rules this thread helpless.

Some people choose to be "that way" and others are just lost in their life and temporarly station themselves in a certain social group. Either way a underlying cause is present....but because im a conformist  my opinions are disregarded

Dont know how anyone can have a voice in this topic unless they are infact goth , emo, or anything else....coming from a different realm.

Are these people scum of society? No. Are they people capable of anything but their own unique religion they established from being in their circle, nope. Therefore use and part in society = to further encircle those who are left out and not apart of the mainstream. They are their own people, I could talk some shit about how fucked up they look and all this and that but it really does not concern me..no it does not.

Just remember, "Its a fucked up world in which we live". That quote always reminds me there's a place for such people in this world.

Really, read the fucking the thread.

I have been involved with goths for about 3 years and throughout that I'vehad contact with punks; this idea that the sub-cultures are full of fucked up people is a really annoyingly persistant myth.

Now almost all myths have a grounding in reality and the sub-cultures do attract people looking for identity, but it's frankly it pisses alot of people of when the vocal minority fuck over the majority, again I can't speak for america, I fear the numbers of people turning to sub-culture for solice and social identity is higher as american society is alot more conformist.

You then have this idea that everyone looks fucked up, look at my pic, fucked up?
I rest my case, again america, not sure whats happening... I'm certain I spoke to some other goth dude who was from america, if only I could find him I could have some more info on society over their.

Although the last quote interests me, I've always held goth to me as a way to confront sides of the human psyche, that mainstream culture doesn't deal with, I might steal that quote, where is it from?

Anyway, even though you clearly have misconceptions, thanks for not throwing them around! (Y)

Didn't bother reading the whole thread, but...

The Gothic subculture is an off-shoot of Punk.
Obvious as hell, but many modern Goths don't seem to get it, apparently.
Ditto modern Punx. It's a shame, really.

Modern "emo" is a weird spin on a trend in Washington DC's '80s Hardcore Punk scene where bands tried to write more emotionally open lyrics (as opposed to writing about straight edge, being a *non-racist* skinhead/punk rocker and gang wars).

Now, where did I put my black Fred Perry shirt? Ah, yes.

I think most people won't even meet these so-called "subcultures" as goth is the only truly defined one, true PUNK was more of an 80s thing, and 90% of "scene kids" aren't really part of a subculture, they just dress that way and listen to the music...there was a "scene" subculture but it was never huge.

And valley girls aren't a subculture, that's like saying preps or jocks are subcultures...superficial girls from california are not a subculture.

I just talk to people who dress like that as I would anyone else, and I talk about music with them, I listen to all that stuff and I'm passionate about music, such people generally are too....generally people who dress intimidatingly are actually nice once you talk to them regardless of how you/they dress.

EDIT: Oh, and I find that girls who dress like that are generally less reserved, a lot of the ones I know are open to doing stuff with other girls as well....so you can be a little bit more direct with them.

Hey fin,

thought i'd say thx for a good read. Lots of good points here.

When i first started sarging i would distance myself from what i considered my culture or "tribe" if you so will, as kind of a safety so i could be sure i wouldnt feel bad if i fucked up.

I was a punk-rocker so i'd go to hip-hop joints and work on my game. It helped me improve alot and gave me some great stories but it also got me alot of experience, not being narrow-minded about other belongings and subcultures can help alot when your out and about working your magic.

If you need some punk group (goth, emo, metal, rapper, whatever) to identify yourself with, then you are pretty much a loser. Be yourself man.
