because you did your job, they want to clarify, because for some reason they are acting out of character, perhaps your not their initial type.
For the most part, i will disagree with the people that say you came on too strong, for the fact that it was "after" the interaction. Shows they are still thinking about whats had happened, and wanted to make sure you dont get the wrong impression, which means they care how you view them.
I have a generic response i use : Aww, you thought i was (flirtting, hitting) on/with you, how cute, im flattered really, your cool and all you would make a great friend at best.
cut thread and move on to the next topic, like her calling your shit did not phase you. But dont say something like that with a sneering tone.
Find ways to think outside the box, to play off your actions and to make them think they are reading into the situation.
example: The club was closing, i put out my arm as if to escort her out of the club, she turns and says "im not going home with you" i repsonded " thats good because i was going to walk you to the door here and drop you off"
her guard was down and she smiled, but at the door i really did drop her off, told her to have a good night and headed to my car to leave the club parking lot before the rush. no more then i sat in my car, a message was on my phone asking to grab some food with her. I pulled a david d and told her that i had food at my place for me to eat, if she was restless she could come over but only for 30min and no funny business. Then she would have to leave as i had to work in the morning and gave her the address. she showed up and needless to say she didnt leave untill morning.
