Hey I have spent the last 6 months studying pua techniques. I have bought all mysterys books and have the magnum opus (by mystery aswell).

Anyway getting to the point. After 6 months of studying I felt I was ready to try out this stuff... but not wanting to do it at home I got myself a 7 week holiday to the states. However nobody here can understand my accent. I have gotten a few girls simply because they liked my accent but thats not much help when I go back home.

Every time I talk to people I have to slow down so much and usually repeat myself a few times... its terrible when Im telling jokes because by the time everybody has copped on to what Im saying its kind lost any comical value.

I dont think anyone can help me... Emmm but any advice at all would be a great. Otherwise I just wasted alot of time money and effort getting over here to perfect my game. Thanks.

You never told us where you are from buddie. But, stop thinking about your accent so much. It gets you in your head and out of state, which causes you to display bad sub-communications.

Im from Ireland and hit Boston.... It was recommended to me I come here because it has large Irish community. Which I have yet to find.... maybe Im just in the wrong places.

Although some women just want me because Im from Ireland and some love my accent even though they cant understand me so well. But when I go back home im not going to have gotten any practise at all and I aint going to get a woman just for my accent either so....

Its all in your head. Your fine. You can use your accent to your advantage because it creates attraction which can lead you into comfort game.

also, tell the american chicks they have really cute accents. its funny because your the foreigner. haha. I did that when I was in London.

In Boston now, PM me if you want to head out for a night.

I'm sure you've hear of Sunzou's piece from the "Art of War"?
Quote:
Know Yourself and not the enemy, you will win half the battles.

Know yourself AND your enemy, you will win ALL the battles.

But don't know yourself and don't know the enemy, you will lose ALL.
This is really so simple but I don't think people get it. Look . . . you seem to KNOW that you have an accent. Cool. Now, if you KNOW that your "target"(or enemy) will respond well to the accent, you USE IT. If you KNOW that your "target"(or enemy) will NOT respond well to the accent, you go with something else. This is SIMPLE. What's the fuss?

There are so many ways to get our "game" going. Don't get yourself stuck in one gear.

trust me I can relate to you on this one, and I'm telling you it's all in your head. English is not my first language and I moved to the US for high school and well all throughout hs I had problems with girls, not because of my personality or looks but because I thought that girls didn't like guys with accents so now that I look back I was shooting myself in the foot. One thing I found out that helped me is the way you carry yourself greatly influences the way you speak. If you're all slouched and serious, you're going to come off to people in a negative way. If you're confident and friendly, people will respond to you positively. Hope this helps.

I don't believe this guy for a second. You don't go to America for girls. Every Irish guy knows this. That is why places like Riga and Tallinn are packed with West European and UK/Irish men.

Riga and Jurmala, Latvia. What you see on a typical summer walk in a post-Soviet town. They dress that way because they were never liberated by Western feminists. Put your American passport around your neck and you are peacocking.

Instead of working on your English just study Russian, Polish, Bulgarian, Estonian, Latvian, etc. Game, Set, Match.

Accents are a wonderful tool, i never realized it but hanging out with a group of Italian jersey boys for years the accent rubbed off, no where near as strong as thiers but noticeable to those not in that area. At first some people did not understand some of the words spoken because of who the accent made them sound. example the word coffee. Try describing coffee to someone who does no understand what your saying!

It was an issue, i had felt i might be in a place where i would have to unlearn the accent. Instead, i took some advice from Neil. I changed my tone of voice, and speed in which i spoke.

To you, when you speak it seems a normal speed, however a captivating voice is not only tone variations but as well, the structure...as in pausing. Grab a voice recorder and speak how you normally do with some small speech. Listen to it, im sure you will be amazed by what you think you sound like and what you actually sound like, i know i was.

Then try to slow down, add pauses and pronounce words slower. Listen to that and see the difference. Eventually you will have a intriguing voice that with no matter what accent, people can understand.

Man... Your accent problem can be seen in many different ways... It is not really the accent right?

Imagine sarging girls that barely speak english at all and still managing to close. Imagine speaking to girls in a loud club, you gotta repeat every word. Imagine all foreign PUAs out there who does not speak a perfect english (my fail english, thats unpossible).

Newsflash... To not care about your accent is more attractive than to try to change it. If the girls come in to your world they have to understand irish. Welcome to ireland a 5 minute vacation...

I have a German accent in English and I actually find that it makes a lot of things much easier because I can get away with saying things which the normal native English bloke would not.

And as far as I know girls love Irish accents, because they have the impression that it sounds really cheeky... so C&F must work great for you on US girls.

One thing I have noticed though is that, when I pick up english girls it s a bit harder to bond because of the massive cultural difference. Never talk about your school experience with an English girl, because theirs was def not the same if you didn't go to a boarding school or something. This I found gives english blokes who are not completely shit with girls quite the advantage.
