So there's this HB9 whom I've known since we were kids (i'm a few yrs older). About a year ago, she showed interest but I never really reciprocated the interest, although I've always been friendly to her. Lately, we've been talking often and went out last week to dinner and drinks afterwards. It went so so and nothing sexual happened. This past weekend, she was going to be in town and said she would give me a call 'cause she was planning on going out to a club w/ friends. She never called, so I never called either.
I don't care too much that she stood me up. Her b-day is coming up this week and I'm attending this event and she'll be at the same event. How should I play this? Should I call/text/email her with a basic b-day message or should I just completely blow her off? Should I call her before going to the event or should I just say hi when I see her there?
My first instincts tell me to send her a simple "Happy Birthday" text on her b-day and bump into her at the event but not bring it the weekend. She's a girl whose been pretty her whole life, so she's a bit self centered and accustomed to guys giving her attention. I don't want to be the typical AFC that kisses her ass, even after she stands them up. Any advice is appreciated.

Part of the problem may be that since you two know each other a long time she may be used to you acting a certain way and an't get that impression out of hr head just yet. David DeAngelo would advise you to keep aloof from her for now and just show up at the event with a few other chicks being the life of the party. Displays opposite of neediness and automatically makes your hb9 qualify herself to you eventually.

If you wanna send a bday text, I would recommend doing it late at night, like you been busy all day and just happened to remember. Don't allude to anything else just short and simple. Make her wait in anticipation thinking of you.

I'd basically just shoot a her text message...Happy birthday and that's all. If she mentions she wants to see you at the event be like, I'm sure we'll run into each other.

You either get two responses....Okay bye...Or the Well I'd like to meet up with you it'd be great. Okay maybe not that good but something along the lines of her wanting to see you.

That way you made her work for it and now she's wanting your attention. Your not giving it to her so you already have the upper hand.
