So I live in London but am originally not from the UK and English is not my mother tongue... I learned it mostly through school first and then Uni (went to Uni in the UK)

So problems I m often facing is that:
1. My vocabulary is not rich enough or words don't come to me fast enough to get some witty banter going
2. I lack the cultural communality that people who grew up in the same place / country have. I don't know a lot of stuff that any normal english person would know because they were exposed to it in their childhood... this could go from TV programmes to local celebrities and just general custom.

I notice this because a lot of my friends here are original english speakers (US, UK, Australia) and when meeting new people immediately manage to find tons of common things, which I find difficult because I simple didn't have those experiences.

The other things is that some of my friends are serious Alphas and while in front of girls I m doing well at keeping them at bay at first there often comes a tiping point where I just lose on the banter.

So what I have been trying to do is to find ways of getting around that and basically managing to constantly be the alpha in a group of native speakers instead of appearing it at first, and then losing later on in the game when it gets down to bantering.

One way of helping me so far was to just get a native speaker as wingman. Problem is though that obv non of my alpha friends would wing me like that, cause they want the good girls for themselves first, so when I m out with them it's just basically pure competition.

I would say I pretty much always win when the girls are non native speakers as well because I most likely speak their language in the UK (chances are she speaks French, German or Spanish) But with the English girls I always find myself at a disadvantage.

So anyone got any good tips for me on how to fix this?
