| Setting: the Island Whorehouse.
Backround: Before you bust on me for going to a whorehouse, let me explain: my tiny island state has 4 bars on the whole island. One of the bars is a place where prostitutes hang out, but it also has karaoke there and people go there to sing as often as they go there for the hookers.
While sitting at the bar one of the prostitutes approached me and sat next to me.
She's a professional so she was gaming me. No matter what I said or did she would not stop showing IOI's. There was no challenge to get her. I think the way I felt was a lot like way a girl feels when a guy is hitting on a girl but he doesn't pay attention to the cues she is giving him and he doesn't know how to use push/pull techniques, so he simply plows through and shows nothing but IOI's.
Her: Do you think I'm ugly?
Me: [laugh for a second, look at her eyes and mouth] I guess you have a nice smile.
Her: [puts her hand on my wrist]
Her: Are you having a good time?
Me: Sure, whatever. [then I turned away from her to talk to the friends I came with, completely excluding her from the conversation.]
45 seconds pass
Her: Hey do you like me?
Me: [turn back to her and shrug my shoulders] I don't even know you. [no smile - then I turned back to my friends, sitting next to me. She sat there and smoked a cigarette]
At the end of the night she followed my out of the bar uninvited and tried to get into my car. After I told her to go away, one of the staff from the bar had come out and pull her away from my car.
It would have been easy to take her home (obviously). But I felt absolutely no sexual attraction to her - not just because she was a hooker and I would probably wind up with jungle crabs - but because there was no game involved, there was no chase. It was too easy.
I think a lot of girls at bars feel the same way. When a guy just plows through without using give-and-take, push-and-pull, the girl is not really involved. There is no challenge for her and nothing for her to win. She knows that she is the prize and what's the point of giving a prize away for free?
When you involve a girl in a good conversation, then take it away from her, she forgets she's the prize and instead wonders where the good conversation went. Then when you make her want to have you come back to restart the conversation, and maybe make her work a little bit to win you back, that's when you're money!
Before that trip to the ole whorehouse, I didn't really realize how important push/pull techniques were.
Now if only there were more than four bars on my little island...
