Hey even look at the Sex and the City episode where the guy had a tongue piercing and the main character got all horny on him....lol

I think it's awesome especially for k-close or attraction, you don't even need a line for k-close (if you use them), just be like: "let me show you something (show the piercing)" and like ask if she ever made out with a guy who had a tongue piercing, you get the idea ..

Hey Fealinlucky btw does the piercing affect your tasting somehow, cz there is so many nerves on the tongue , right ? Or you know thus guys that cut their tongues in half, does that f* up their tongue, and you can't taste anymore? just wondering

V3nu

taste isnt anything thats screwed up really...

when you think about it... all your tastebuds are individuales so even splitting your tongue isnt really gonna jack with your taste too much. So its not a big deal =)

For those of you considering getting your tongue pierced though... there is one thing to keep in mind,
1) get a reperatable piercer...tongue piercings done wrong will not only look stupid but can screw up your teeth something fierce... and thousands of dollers worth of dental is not worth it for a 60$ piercing .. trust me

2) no matter what... you will bite it at least once.... and it sucks... its a risk you run at the possibility of cracking a tooth... just keep that in mind.. <--- number one reason why to get a good piercer so its placed properly.

3) having the piercing is cool, but dont play with it all the time... ("thats what she said HAHAHA) it can be a bit of a turn off to constantly be messing with it.

just my thoughts as always,
Lucky

Actually bro i'm not quite sure u should in my opinion. Tongue piercings are more leaning to the side that ur gay.
This means no offense to you at all and if its your style, by all means go with it.
However i suggest u getting something like a ear or eyebrow piercing which are seen as more badass whereas tongue rings often come off as you like dudes.
good luck with watever u choose

no i totally understand that
thats why i am just askin ppl who hav them how girls react to them. i only no like 2 guys that do and i havnt talked to them in a long time and they arnt in the game at all. i would go for one of those but see i cant hav alot of visible stuff cause im a diver, thats the main issue. and idk maybe having one would make easier/funnier k-closing haha

There are lots of both gay and straight ,men and women who have their tongue pierced, I don't see anything pertaining to sexual preference in it and regardless of where I have been, I have never heard any comments made to suggest as much either. It's the exact same as the "one piercing in the <insert "left" or "right" depending on circumstance> ear means you're gay" saying; it's utterly bullshit and even though it's said all over the world, it doesn't mean anything, it's merely insecure people voicing their insecurities. Show them you don't care and that you're more confident than them.

If you are gonna get it done, do like Feelinlucky said and make sure you're getting a decent piercer, cause I got mine done at a place that I hadn't researched at all and it hurt a lot cause he was fucking sloppy and unprofessional. You want to look around and find the most professional place you can. That means, look in your phone book, talk to anyone who you see with lots of piercings/tattoos and find out what the word on the street is, as well as looking into places yourself. You are well within your rights to ask for their accreditations as well as their certificates of health and safety (which should actually be well displayed in their main waiting room). Word of mouth counts for a lot, but make sure you physically go and check out any places that you are considering because sometimes you can get a read on the vibe of a place and tell whether it's good or not just by seeing how clean and professionally set up it is.

I'd suggest that you ask about whether they carry Bioplast barbells for tongue piercings. The place that I got mine done at carries not only the standard stainless steel bar, but also a plastic one that is incredibly flexible, so it is easier on your teeth, tongue and roof of your mouth, as well as being rated for surgical safety (make sure it is a proper material for that purpose and not just some plain plastic junk). One really good thing about the Bioplast is that it is supposed to improve the rate at which your tongue heals after being pierced, nearly cutting the initial swelling time in half because the plastic doesn't heat up and increase the swelling, unlike steel. You also won't have the issue with biting it because it isn't so hard on your teeth.

looks like you live in cali.. so you should have to hard of a time finding a good piercer...

here are a few things to look for...
1) externally threaded jewelry - this is pretty much a deal breaker... especially these days. if they are not using internally threaded... walk away

2) ask to see their portfolio it should be fairly thick

3) How long have they been piercing and where did they apprentice and for how long. I may even go so far as to call the place they used to work and inquire

4) ask them their cleaning routine... autoclaveing needels.. using gloves... autocalving jewelry ensuring cross contamination doesnt occur... this stuff is all basic and should occure every time... if you see something that looks sketchy RUN

thats about all I can think of.

Good luck =)

thats why going to a good piercer is paramount...

some people claim this to be a problem (all though most get over it if they take the piercing out...) it is caused by the percing being placed incorrectly which makes it more difficult to form your words properly due to the piercing hitting the roof of your mouth during the "S" and "T" sounds...

A Good piercer takes this into account... for instance... a week after my piercing was done... *swelling had subsided* (which btw Motrine helps with)
no one can even tell i have it unless they see it.

Yeah, agreed. Also, the Bioplast barbell I mentioned earlier reduced my swelling to like 3 days, so I recommend the $20 upgrade (at least that's what I paid) from stainless. :)
