For some girls, when I say they are pretty or cute etc... they'll say they think they're ugly. What should I do?

I'd reply in a joking tone: "Really? Well no one asked your opinion." Flash a smile, and stack forward into another routine.

Girls who don't think they're hot usually have self esteem issues, so I'd make a mental note to avoid the negs.

Dead wrong. If a girl really challenges you and sends tons of shit tests, it's because she knows she's attractive. That's why you need to neg girls, so that they can get off their high horses.

If a girl says she's ugly, that's a pretty clear sign that she has some substantial self-esteem issues. If you want to get laid, tell her how wonderful and beautiful and smart and etc she is. She'll be eating out of your hand.

But be forewarned...if you sleep with her once and don't call her again, she'll hate you and go on a revenge-seeking mission. If you sleep with her twice or more, she'll think she owns you.

I spent almost 13 years in a marriage with a woman who had major self-esteem issues. You can't fix it, only she can, so don't bother trying. Women with very low self-esteem will do almost anything for validation that they are a worthy human being, you can't tell them when they've done something wrong (even if it's something small), you have to continuously throw positives into their bottomless emotional pit, and even that is never enough because that emotional pit is indeed bottomless. The nice guy approach sounds like you're trying to gain her respect and admiration. She wants to hear good things about herself from you - truth be told, she could choose any guy to do this with. Here's a hint: she doesn't give a damn. She just wants to hear someone tell her she's hot. If you try to tell her she is and comfort her, then you're creating an imbalance of power in who has control of the frame. Show her you wouldn't give a straw-penny about what she thinks, she needs to be worrying about what you're thinking - particularly about her.

I don't agree with Gruuve personally - I've found most girls seem to say they don't like what they look like. That doesn't mean they aren't;

• hot in your eyes
• hot in bed
• loads of fun to hang out with
• posessing a great sense of humour
• etc.

Of course there's a difference between dusting off a diamond vs playing psychiatrist all day and night - you have to decide for this particular girl if it's worth it or not, usually you can't really know till further down the track.

Depends how they say it. Sometimes they say it just because they're seeking more approval, in which case I call them out on it (and normally they agree).

Conker...you're probably right. After spending 13 years with an LSE, I guess my perspective may be a little skewed. LOL.

if:

she is actually trying to get a compliment out of you, you called her out on it and you win, ball is back in her court

she was actually meant it, then she will most of the time take it as a compliment because you were basically telling her in an indirect way that you don't think she is ugly at all - This should build up her self-esteem a little and make her like you more.

yeah she was really looking for compliments, i had this once, i was with a girl and she was with a friend and she was like aww man my friend is so much hotter than me, im ugly. then she gave a sigh, as soon as i said no your not ugly you look hot, her attention just kind of shifted, dont feed the ego without them working for it, so yeh neg or go around or something, but dont strait up give it to them unless ofcourse they are really insecure, this is up to your calibration and experience and situation ofcourse,

Going on the violin basis I guess you could also do actions like you're fishing, throwing your line, reeling in etc.

Why would she lower herself for no apparent reason? Because she wants you to bring it back up. Shes testing you. Give her a passive IOD, and dont say the normal: omg your not!!! Instead, dont agree with her or contradict her, just ignore her playing her games. Say nothing. She will not be used to this - she may even say - Did you hear me??? Which we can translate to - tell me im pretty!

I case you forgot, shit tests aren't an active thing girls do, its passive, it just happens without them thinking.
