[High school]

Been reading this for a while and I finally need specific help.

I have known this HB8 for a long time. Never really "friends". Started talking to her again and we hit it off nice. This is how our recent text went. She is "single"

She invited me to her party this weekend.
I said sure.
She warned me about her ex being there. (He is definitely not a problem himself. He is a pretty ugly/weird guy not sure how he got her. Lol)
I promised not to hurt him. Lol.

"shut up. haha... um well okay im not gunna lie and lead you on, ____ and i are talking but idk... i want to be single... and i do have a little crush on you."

I said I was glad she was honest yadayada.

"I feel bad though! =( i love him and i like you. idk.

I'm obviously not going to push the relationship but would like to get rid of him so I have my own lane to progress.


What do I do in general? And how do I handle her party? Because I don't always feel comfortable at parties.

Translation:

Her: I have a party this weekend and I want to hook up with you.

You: But I'm a nervous little kid.

Her: I have a party this weekend and I want to hook up with you. By the way, I've had boyfriends before. I know how to hook up.

Her: We better be hooking up at my party. But don't get me wrong. I'm no slut.

Her: We BETTER be hooking up AT MY PARTY! I AM TELLING YOU THAT I LIKE YOU. I just said it . . .there, I LIKE YOU! By the way, I'm not a slut.

So . . . you:

Maybe I should try to figure out her ex-boyfriend or something . . . he seems like a trouble maker . . . Yeah, I know she want to hook up with me and says she likes me but instead of focusing on her and demonstrating my attraction towards her, I'll figure out a way to deal with her trouble making boyfriend. That ought to really show her that I'm cool and not a nervous little boy at all. . .
