Well, Im getting tired of waiting and reading hoping that I will magically become a PUA or at least a PU for that matter. I jumping into the flame, I accept the fact that I will get burned...but I need to do this...no one else will do it for me...Right?

Im going out with the 2 part kiss opener and the bad boy opener...I just want to open from there...If it escalates...Im F*#ked...Im not really sure on what to do then, but I will learn...that is the key.

Any ideas, suggestions, what did you do when you first started and what did you find that worked best?

I also picked up a couple of cheat sheets, So I have an idea...I just need to get out there. It just feels so weird, you know?

Why tomorrow? Start today! ;)

Seriously, one of the things I wished someone would have told me is that you ARE gonna crash and burn, do not take it personal. This happens to everyone, this is merely training, it is not a chance for you to meet the girl of your dreams. The practice sets do not matter really.
And if/when you crash and burn, get up and go for it again!

I started out using the jealous girlfriend and 80s dogs openers followed by the best friends test and the trust test for kino followed by the cube and palmistry and the evolution phase shift routines... But everyone does it differently.

Good luck man!!!

Ezo

I may start today, not sure...I need to go over my material... Im so nervous. Im know I can be good, I just need to jump in and drown abit, I'll post my results here.

Here is what I have planned...

Im going to walk the mall and see how many sets I can do in an hour or so... (Sat)

Sunday, I want to review myselft in the mirror about 100+ times and then go back out to the mall or somewhere and do it again...why not do the mirror deal first, IDK, I just think it will help me to compare day 1 to day 2. If I see it's easier, within myself, I can use momentum and proceed from there.

Any opinions on that?

This is what's going to happen, you're gonna practice 100+ times in the mirror and when you get out there you are going to choke. You're gonna wanna say the right thing, and not fuck up. But trust me, the best field test to do is experiance.

This is something that ALWAYS works for me (even to this day). Go out with a mission of using the SAME opener on everyone that walks up to you.

Example:

I'd go to the mall and the very first man/woman I'd see I'd say "Do you know where the Express Men's store is?"

As soon as I got an answer I'd thank them and move on. The very next person...

"Excuse me, do you know where the Express Men's store is?"

Rinse, wash, repeat. After about the ninth man or HB that I asked this, my aniexty pretty much disappeared. So I approach yet another being, same opener, varied response.

It got to a point where I had approached 30 sets in twenty mins. I was exhausted, uh oh! There's the next person, same opener. I was creating a pattern in my head. It was almost as if I knew what kind of response I was going to get (Maybe in different words, but same meaning).

After an two hours had pasted, I realized what had happened. The repeition of the entire exercise made me create alternative openers, and those openers begin to fall into full-blown conversations.

I started having fun with it and didn't want the fun to end. When I go out today, its like jumping in that pool of water again. Initially its scary but I know how much fun it can be, so I do some warm up openers, and then start swimming with the sharks.

If I can better explain myself, let me know?

He he, actually... The wisest words ever uttered are: Life is a bitch... That is so true!

Listen to the advice of these guys man, I congratulate you to starting down the PUA path, it is gonna change your life.

It is no use practicing the routines and memorizing routines for your first time in field. You will say something completely different anyway. The first in field sessions will be consumed by building confidence. Working up the guts to approach. I know what you mean by thinking of any excuse to not approach I have heard em all: No I dont like that set, no too classy, no look bitchy, nah later, what set which one oh they are gone... No problems.

Im gonna tell you something I wish I would have known when I started.

Imagine the mass of people who have read the game... A bunch.
Imagine how many of them actually understood it, some of them.
Imagine the people who agreed with what was said, again some of them.
Imagine the people who actually got around to look for more information, a few.
Imagine the people who actually tried it in field, not many get over that fear.
Imagine the people who got over the first AA or first rejections, not many.
Imagine the people who could take months and months of punishment without results.
Imagine the peole who actually get good, a handful.

Do not get discouraged, pain and humiliation and difficulties are normal things in the beginning, everyone has had it.

Ezo

Well, I went out, couldn't approach the first person I saw...froze again...but then realized I mentioned posting my results here...I can't post that I froze again!

I went to the mall, I opened 10 sets with "Where is Macy's?" Some couples, some groups, some singles. It took about 40 minutes.

I left with an idea, I went to a local large shopping center where the store I was looking for was not at and asked about 6 more people in about 15 minutes, it was actually very dead there.

Moved to target, opened about 4 people there and wal-mart for another 5.

The later sets where much easier. I'm going to try this for the week and build some confidence and then move up from there and actually try to open with an opener.

In regards to your last comment Ezo...

That's a true reality, I just hope that I have what it takes to make it there...Hey Ezo, how long have you been doing this?...where are you at this point with pick up?

I really appreciate your advice, it has really helped me out a lot, thank you.

Dont worry about it, happy to help. One of the best things to remember is that you should not have any expectations. None!

When I met Neil Strauss last wednesday at his book signing, one of the things he kept mentioning was he actually was the definition of AFC. For quite a while he didn't have no success whasoever. Even guys who are considered top ranked mPUAs today, struggled for months, and months, before they fully got a grip on things.

The biggest thing that will help you overcome this obstacle, literally is that you have to love to socialize. I tell ppl I game every single day, because I go out EVERY afternoon and night meeting new ppl (only other PUA I know who's done this is I Am The Future). You have to love being social, to the point where when you're not talking... you're THINKING about talking.

But your drive tells me within a year's tops, you'll be a moderator on this very forum.

Hi,
best of luck. You seem to be highly motivated. ´
I have been doing this just for the last few weeks.Dont think that for a minute success need be 10 years away either you know. Be positive. Stay open and you never know what might happen. On my first venture I number closed a babe with two enormous breasts.God were they big!! But then didn´t follow up.
It was curious how it happened. I thought mistakenly that the bar was going to close in another 10 minutes. it was 3:50 in the morning. I had had zero luck all night and there she was sitting on her own. I had just 10 minutes. So, i walked over and started dancing with her. Little did i know that the bar didn´t close for another two hours!!! Probably if I had known that I would have done nothing.
Anyway, good luck. Everybody crashes and burns until you get the upper hand.
Soon I am sure that you will get comfortable with it and be scoring big time.

If I number close though by some freak accident...that would be something...baby steps as Style says....thats how Im trying to take it...I really thank all the positive feedback, I will keep you posted in my progress...the sky is the limit and Im trying to get to cloud 9, hopefully with an HB-10!
