Good evening gentlemen, and possibly confused ladies - I'll give you a brief break down of my life story- I was rolling on V plates until I was eighteen however since that time I've never had any real problem picking up.

I hit up a long term relationship for about six months which was great, some of the best times of my life but after it ended - it was mutual - I felt like a mongoloid when i went out, girls would check me out, lock eyes, but after i got talking just seemed bored and buggered off. So I picked up 'the game' which was nothing short an enthralling read. No offense to Mystery and Grand master style (as I've picked up he is now referred to as) I just about threw the book out the window when I realized they were magicians, but I got over that and decided to continue my reading which lead me hear. I absorbed the gunwich method, and the idea of picking up girls during the day is something I'd never even considered, and I was hooked.

With all of this in mind, I hit the town last friday and chatted up at least 20 girls, on the train on my way out, in line at 7/11 and in pubs, got a couple of numbers and hit the D-floor where I macked a couple of fine young ladies. I just charged up to girls and started talking to them and within minutes was getting IOI's from them. I'm a natural peacocker (wow that sounds gay), and have been dressing like a freak bag for years, I had just never realized it was one of the reasons i picked up.

Basically after every "sarge" (I'm not sure if this is outdated terminology, I certainly hope it is) the game flew out the door and my inner dipshit launched himself onto the girl and it paid off. As a person I'm a big nerd, I have card counting(albeit a bit rusty), lie detection and a great deal of philosophy and anthropology under my cranial belt and after reading the game I figured PUArtistry may not be a bad addition.

But as the title implies: is it worth it? I don't at all want to become some deranged mechanoid launching the same quotes every time I approach a girl, I seem to be getting my own game back - thanks to the game, which I think is ironic- and was wondering if anyone here, especially experienced PUA's who dabble in the newbie forums, are in a similar position to myself.

PUA is not about reciting the same line to 50 girls and getting their numbers.

If you find that using your own material works, by all means use it!

The memorised standard lines are for those people not confident enough to approach girls and 'freestyle' their way to a good result.

anyone have some notable reading for my situation - Gambler seems to be the kind of character I should delve into. From what I've read his ethos emphasizes inner game and anti-rehearsed lines. Unfortunately his material comes at a price.

Well to be honest I think its best you start off by recognising your own sticking points, your own weaknesses basically and then I think other posters will be more equipped to recommend you the relevant mPUAs to learn from with regard to your needs.

well my only sticking point is from club/bar to home, if I can get a girl back I can seal the deal with my own style without breaking a sweat but yeah. Generally speaking my problem is I approach sets of 4 or more so when I get to macking a girl I never get more than a number before one of her friends gets jealous and drags her away. Usually to another bar and she spends the night messaging me... In the scenario mentioned prior I had tongue down the throat of another girl while she was messaging me.

We bailed from the place and I tried to get her to come around to our place via text message to no avail... Now that I come to think of it, if there's a way to get a girl (who's not in my presence) to bail on her friends and cab it to my place I'm all ears!

If you seriously want to learn then yes it is worth it. What is not worth it is starting and not seeing it through all the way, that is a waste of time...

yeah I think using some of the skills on this site is benificial to most guys, but I think it takes a special person to really advance to the levels of mPUA and Guru etc, you really need to take it on as a life lesson not just a quicker way to get laid. The PUA is a manifestation of all admirable qualities in the male sex. We are supposed to represent all the reasons women still chose to mate with us. PUA's are the elite, the consciously aware and the determined.

Ive vowed to stay single for a year so that I know I have had a dedicated time to litterally being a PUA. Ive done 2 LTR's that ended because I still have this to get out of my system. Altho I think tbh with you its looking increasingly likely im going to dedicate my life to become the strongest most diverse and natural pickup artist possible. I want to exude sexy, I want to entice them HB1-'s and I want to learn to recover and save myself from any and every pitfall.

Aaaaah, sorry, I do not agree. It does not take a special type of person to go far, it just takes determination.
All I am trying to say is that there is no point in trying and quitting, if you start you have to go to the point where you have understood the game or your time have been wasted.
