A1- Opening last seconds to a minute or so.
A2 - Female to Male Attraction Phase. This is the part where you neg, DHV, show disinterest, watching for IOIs, and befriend the obstacles lasts about 5 minutes.
A3 - Male to Female Interest. Slowly showing interest back to the target takes about another 5-10 minutes.
So in total most of the time under 20 minutes. Each situation is different through.
As far as openers go, there is a whole section on the forum of openers. Some are opinion, with kino, direct, situational, etc.
If you don't know what to say or do sounds like you need to create a routine stack or work on general conversation skills. Many of us have to do this at first.
Overview example. You might want to check out some field reports or Lay Reports and possible read up on the Venusian Arts Handbook. It differs but the method is basically the same.
