1) My opening was clumsy. It got the set talking, but it was rude, vulgar, and set the wrong tone.
2) The girl I was talking to wasn't as attractive as I first thought. I wanted to bail, but didn't.
3) I said something I shouldn't have and the girl jumped on it. I still didn't bail. The conversation turned into a fight.
4) Angry at myself and with my frame blown to bits, I ended up just walking away and then leaving the bar in shame about ten minutes later.
5) I learned later that a nearby guy had overheard me and recognized my technique as "Total Mystery Method." The only bright spot is that he didn't out me. He just stood there and listened while I dug myself a hole and made him look good. _________________ Some vices miss what is right because they are deficient, others because they are excessive, in feelings or in actions, while virtue finds and chooses the mean.
