I text this girl about going to a party. I wasn't going but the who was holding it lives in the same town as she does.I mentioned the guy who was holding it. I don't think she knows that the guy that was holding it goes to my school. Could this have freaked her out if I didn't tell her I knew the guy ???

Nah not really but you could of said and this may have given you a bit of social proof at least.
