ok so i took this chick to this date function, had a few drinks before hand things were going well, get to the actual place where the function was being held, im mingling with everyone, not really focusing on her, i feel like this hurt me, eventually get to the after party, talking to her and her friends, left to go some where for about 15 min, came back shes talking to my friend, i figure its not a big deal so bout 5 min later they walk away together, i act like its not a big deal, but she never comes back but she text me about 45 min later saying:thanks for taking me, i had alot of fun tonight!

all i said was: yea it was a good time

i obviously messed up some how, her friend said she was feeling me

lost cause?

It's o.k. if you don't focus on her the 'whole' night, but there needs to be some sort of interaction to raise her IL (if that is what you want).

Her friend said she is feeling you, this should take some of the guessing work out of the equation (does she like me, etc.). You have her attention, focus on building her attraction.

Hopefully your friend didn't steal your thunder.

It sounds like you need to cover some of the basics. I recommend you download a PUA ebook (or 2) and read up on rapport building and escalation.
