I am fairly new to this whole thing, but I got The Rules of the Game by Style, and The Mystery Method, and so far I feel better and more comfortable with women than I have in my whole life and I'm only on day 8.


Anyway, I've been afraid to use indirect openers. The reason being that with the popularity of the pick up artist reality show I know that a lot of women will know whatsup. I'm pretty good at passing shit-tests, but I fear that being called out on using the Mystery Method to try and pick up the girl would be a major DLV.

It seems to me that so far that the game is more about being confident, showing a willingness to walk away, and being interesting more than anything else anyway.


By the way quick story on my only indirect opener I saw a real funky dressed girl at a spencer gifts type store and asked if she knew the name of the song "No Rain" she said no. Needless to say if I'm gonna pursue the indirect opener I'm gonna need to have some better openers.

this one works in the club and in day game, and its fun and interactive, leaves a lot of room for teasing them if they come up with silly names.

I feel that canned shit is useless, especially the indirect openers when they aren't genuine. Maybe if it's your absolute first time approaching or just warming up. I just like sticking to things like "hey i like you and i'd like to get to know you"(by someone else). Direct openers are to the point instead. I know, they'll think you're hitting on them but at least they know you're confident enough to do it. But it's your opinion. If you're not comfortable, then go out of your bounds and try it, if not forget it.

Direct definitely has it's time and place. In social events like parties and clubs, when approaching groups with multiple girls in which I have not received an invitation of sorts (eye contact or non-verbal flirting), then indirect is the way to go.

You don't need a canned opinion opener. A friendly "hey, what's going on" will do the trick as long as you present yourself well and have something to follow that up with. The point of all these 'routines' floating around is not for you to memorize them and throw them out at certain times. They should be viewed as examples where you should, in the moment, use your own instincts and creativity to interest a girl. Hot babes are approached all the time. If you do something that shows originality, balls, and separates you from the sea of AFC's that she routinely rejects, then you're a step up from the very start.

I've tried indirect game. I've gotten mixed results but none of them have turned into anything worthwhile.

Direct game lets the girl know, beyond any doubt, that you're into her, and you're trying to see if she's worth additional time.

If a girl is by herself then sure. In a group situation though, by coming in and instantly proclaiming attraction towards one of them you run the risk of doing a few things:
1. alerting the mother hen who instantly protects her chick by kicking you out of the circle
2. activating ANY of the girls bitch shields, which will be much higher when with their friends
3. alienating everyone else, making them jealous and/or angry that you are isolating her from the group
4. making your target instantly self-conscious, causing her to be less likely to show her true emotion
5. hitting on the wrong girl. Might be married or in a LTR. Makes it very VERY difficult to transition and go after another girl in the group

IMO, the best way to deal with groups is to be verbally un-intrusive and indirect, but through physiology and tonality be very overtly sexual. By mismatching what I'm saying, "you'd make a great friend" with what I'm doing (hugging her, looking into her eyes), it creates huge tension and sexual interest, women love this sort of flirting. Also, using this approach you can make a better selection of your target after getting to know them all.

But yes, i agree with what you said ^. I tried indirect openers and they were just not working well and it didn't feel as genuine. I believe that direct openers make you appear more confident to a certain extent.
