Love is not a mystery and it sure as fuck ain't something you need to measure in a lab.

It's simply the world's Best Bet.

Check it out.Its an old logic puzzle from the earliest theologians. Goes like this:

* If you don't believe in heaven and you are wrong, you end up in hell. You lose everything.
* If you do believe in heaven and you're wrong, you end up nowhere. You gain nothing and lose nothing.
* If you don't believe in heaven and you are right, you end up nowhere. You gain nothing and lose nothing.
* If you do believe in heaven and you are right, you end up in heaven. You win everything.

Love is heaven. The only way to win is to believe. We have nothing to lose, and heaven to win.

I prefer to think of Love as a self-evident and infinite force of compassion.

*muttering something about science being all right and fin going off with things I dont understand*
Love does exist, it may or may not be some mumbo jumbo cosmic forces pulling two people together but it does exist.
It is simple an addiction to the chemicals your brain releases when you are around that person  This is why "bad" relationships can last so long, the type of chemical produced slowly changes, but the people involved remain addicted to it :)

However, I think this is looking at if there is more to love and believing is good :)

No-one's disputing that love exists, or that it's a powerful emotion. Of course it is. It's also a wonderful one to feel for all of twenty minutes before something happens and then they're hurting so you start hurting or you're apart for a bit and you start hurting.

Don't get me wrong, I've nothing against love, and I have no problem feeling love for someone I just prefer not to be IN love with someone.

Besides; there's another way out of that logic problem as it pertains to belief in heaven: Assume that God isn't enough of a c*ck to send people to hell just because they were raised in the wrong part of the world and therefore belief in Him or Heaven aren't required so long as you're a good person.

Besides. Reincarnation is far cooler.

Well the real problems with pascals wager as a theological argument lie within.

A: Where as belief is concerned it is not a case of believe or not, as their are multiple choices, thus pascals wager can be applied to ANY belief system regardless of the logic behind the belief.

B: Pascals wager assumes that "belief" can be changed, it can be changed but it takes rather drastic measures, and it is not as the argument would suggest an instantaneous concious choice, like flipping a switch.

C: One could critise the "genuiness" of the belief, if the belief is only held as a pretence, rather than an internalisation of "faith". And "faith" rather than skin deep pretences is what is supposed to save the soul from damnation.

So in saying that, this is a good post when it comes to mtivation and building excitement within relationships, but it doesn't actually prove anything.

It doesn't add to the logic of love and it probably wont change anyones GENUINE perceptions of love. But it could encourage some people to think more open mindedly and positievly (especially within the community) when it comes to love.

The problem with having an open mind is that it won't be long before some damn fool tries to put something in it.
