Endocrine effects of masturbation in men
K Purvis, BM Landgren, Z Cekan, and E Diczfalusy
The levels of pregnenolone, dehydroepiandrosterone (DHA), androstenedione, testosterone, dihydrotestosterone (DHT), oestrone, oestradiol, cortisol and luteinizing hormone (LH) were measured in the peripheral plasma of a group of young, apparently healthy males before and after masturbation. The same steroids were also determined in a control study, in which the psychological antipation of masturbation was encouraged, but the physical act was not carried out. The plasma levels of all steroids were significantly increased after masturbation, whereas steroid levels remained unchanged in the control study. The most marked changes after masturbation were observed in pregnenolone and DHA levels. No alterations were observed in the plasma levels of LH. Both before and after masturbation plasma levels of testosterone were significantly correlated to those of DHT and oestradiol, but not to those of the other steroids studied. On the other hand, cortisol levels were significantly correlated to those of pregnenolone, DHA, androstenedione and oestrone. In the same subjects, the levels of pregnenolone, DHA, androstenedione, testosterone and DHT, androstenedione and oestrone. In the same subjects, the levels of pregnenolone, DHA, androstenedione, testosterone and DHT in seminal plasma were also estimated; they were all significantly correlated to the levels of the corresponding steroid in the systemic blood withdrawn both before and after masturbation. As a practical consequence, the results indicate that whenever both blood and semen are analysed, blood sampling must precede semen collection.
Ok this is is saying that when you masturbate, certain hormones are elevated in both the blood and the semen (note, losing semen can not in any way significantly deplenish hormones released into the blood stream)Notably, testosterone is NOT one of the hormones with a marked difference, tho it does have a significant difference. In sciene-eese, "significant" only means that the difference was enough to overcome the possibility of normal statistical randomness. In other words, its enough that it isnt just by chance. That could be as little as 1 1000th of a procent or as much as 10 liters, it all depends on the accuracy of the measurements. The control group proves that these hormonal changes require physical masturbation, not masturbating will not elevate hormonal levels to this extent, no matter how hard you think about.
So this article seriously refutes the OP's quote, which imho was total horseshit anyhow. Testosterone goes up somewhat, in both blood and semen after masturbation. Obviously the blood hasnt been depleted, or we would have measured the opposite effect.
X-guy or whatever said it best. The argument that men need testosterone to think, and therefor women must be dumb, is a very sharp and deadly blow to the whole retarded theses.
The human body has so many complicated feedback loops, that it is almost preposterous to think that depleting something which is not a specific element (iron or calcium, ie not a protein and cannot be synthesized by the body) wont result in an immediate replenishment. If anything, as with most feedback loops in the body, one would assume you could actually hyperelevate levels of the deplenished material, as the body usually overcompensates, and later corrects. Check out hyperventilation, for example.
At any rate, I masturbate daily, usually three or four times a day. Im fit, strong, active. Im alpha. I fuck tons of women, and they think I am damn sexy and attractive. I have an IQ that usually hits in the 135-145 range, depending on the test. If I am sluggish one day, its usually because of alcohol, or physical tiredness.
This idea is horseshit, pure and simple.
Three or four times a day? I just hope you wash your hands after each session.
