Alright, so I'm 20 and a sophomore in college, and I just went out with this girl who is a junior. We connected and I asked if she wanted to hang out sometime this weekend. She said yes, but then she wanted to let me know she has an internet boyfriend. After, she did say that hopefully after midterms we could hang out more, and that doing homework together would be good. What the hell? I actually really like this girl, but its gonna be hard to get close if she has this whole other thing going on. I feel like this is an easy one to overcome, as I am a real person, but I feel like I also need to be careful. Advice please?!?

~Also, my current thought is probably keep hanging out with her, and eventually it will work out, I do want to move forward, but not screw this up either...

What I find about internet relationships is that a lot of the parties involved seem to think there is something wrong with them, that would cause them to not be able to have a regular relationship. It may be that there IS something wrong with her, or she may just be really insecure.

Keep hanging out with her and keep up the gaming. She deserves better than an internet boyfriend, be her better.

Thanks cinnamon, I have actually been talking to her for like the last two hours on AIM, she definitely has self esteem issues, but I think shes great. She already said something to the effect of shes going to break up with this internet boyfriend. Guess it pays to just actually BE a nice guy sometime, and not even need to game =)

Internet boyfriends very rarely last. Hang in there, be a nice guy but make sure to bring a sexual tension aspect into it to.

My boy would ALWAYS tell me "I'm going to do terribly naughty things to you" or "Hmm, it's getting to be five. If we're going to go back to my place and do naughty things we should leave soon". I didn't put out for a LONG while, but I did eventually.

Keep it up and make sure you don't get friend-zoned. Internet boys are all too easy to get back together with.
